My sister installed this today for our Dad on his bathtub. It is exactly what we needed. It is the right height. There are protectors so it won't scar the bathtub. It is just what we need and wanted!
Strong, sturdy and doesn't slip. The suction cup handles aren't safe enough as they will come off the wall if you put pressure on them, so this is a great adjunct for safety.
I have a shower in a standard bathtub. It is very scary getting in and out with a bad hip and ankle. This bathtub rail makes it easier for me and it is very attractive with the chrome finish.
Very happy with this very useful grab bar. Can be turned around for easy access to either back or front of the tub with minimal adjustment. Only disadvantage is it,can only be used on outside of the shower curtain unless water pools outside of tub. Not very accessible when taking a shower. Nice for accessing and exiting the tub though. Love the finish, as it is easy to grip without hands sliding.
This was a great safety item. very secure and easy installation. Highly recommend.
When I asked my Occupational Therapist on whether to buy the tall or the short bathtub rail for my tub, she recommended the combination high and low rail. I have used this combination rail for the last three weeks and have found that the Occupational Therapist was correct. The short rail is the perfect height for bathing. I can easily get out of the tub when I use the low rail. And the tall rail is just the right height for me to hold on to when I am turning around when I shower and getting out of the tub. The only down side of this rail is its installation. While the bottom edges of the support bars went easily over the tub, the top of the supports were a half inch away from the tub. I, and my husband were unable to squeeze the top supports together with our hands to make them flush with the tub, and it was difficult to bring the supports together just by tightening the bolts. By using a clamp and turning it, we were able to squeeze the supports flush with the tub. Once that was done it was easy to tighten the bolts.
After back surgery, I ended up having severe pain that ran down the back of both legs. I was unable to walk to BR, so I ordered this so when I was capable of walking to the BR, I'd have a nice secure grab bar so I wouldn't bend over to use tub to help me get up
Perfect for my needs!!!
Great item
I'm very happy with this product.. It gives me two support options of height getting in and out of the bathtub, since it's hard to raise my legs after two hip replacements.. It's very sturdy.. It don't move around and mare up the side of the tub..
