Have been using for over 2 years, and it's still going without any issues. Can shred many sheets at a time, like 6-8, depending on their thickness. Will shred credit cards (when positioned at the middle where marked for card insertion). Stops automatically when the bin gets full; however, this means paper could be stuck in the shredder until you empty and replace the bin whereupon shredding restarts automatically. The clear window is handy for gauging how full is the bin. The wheels make it easy to roll around, especially to pull out to extract the bin to empty it. Although it has a safety where you can fold down the paper insert slot (to close it), I don't have children around, so I leave it up all the time. I've yet to have it jam, so not had to use reverse to unjam. I've had several paper shredders in the past, and this one has been the most powerful and durable. Do wish it did a smaller crosscut, but it's definitely safer than the long parallel cutting of some shredders or me tearing up a document.
WORKS GREAT! WELL MADE! ON WHEELS. CONVENIENT SLIDING BASKET. REALLY EASY TO USE. ALL NEGATIVE COMMENTS ARE TOTALLY FALSE! REALLY WORTH THE MONEY.
So far best shedder I have ever owned and I have had several. Very easy to assemble. I had a lot of shredding to do so from the very start I put it to work. It has done an outstanding job. No bogging down (I haven't pushed it with eight or ten sheets yet) and love the removable waste can. I use my shredded material to pack various things in boxes so that is very handy. I would recommend this shredder.
The shredder is great for my needs. Overall it is small in comparison to my previous one but works well and cuts paper into very small pieces. Not recommended for heavy use I don't think. Cuts 6 sheets at a time as advertised and has a lever that can be shut to cover the shredder blade when not in use which is a plus.
I use it in my home office and its size is great. Not too big, just right.
This shredder is so far different than ones I have had in the past. It has many safety features built in the unit. It took me only about 5 minutes to read all the detailed instructions and only a couple of minutes to get use to the differences. I would recommend this unit to anyone wanting to purchase a shredder, especially if they have children. Like I said many safety features making it safe, easy, and affordable.
I bought this Aurora to replace an expensive Embassy $235 micro cut shredder which stop working a few days ago, after 2 years of service. I have this Aurora for about 1 week now and I am happy with my purchase, so far. First thing I noticed is that it is a lot quieter than the Ambassy shredder it is replacing. I also like the fact that it has a warning RED light coming ON when the basket needs to be emptied. Had I have this on my Expensive Ambassy shredder, it would maybe, still be working. Overall, worth the price
I have been using this shredder for over 2 months with no problems. No more than six sheets and no more than 3 minutes on continuous use. I was able to clean a bunch of old document. The paper cut pieces are pretty small (are 1.5 x 1/4). It's not fast; however, it does the job.
I love it1 The pullout basket is a big plus! It is a little loud when it is shredding. It takes 12 sheets of paper without a problem. It is a fine shred so the basket holds more.
Second day used, one of the wheels broke off (bottom of unit very cheaply made - thin plastic). Advertised as 12 sheet feeder, I found that any more the 5 or 6 sheets nearly stalled the motor and after 8 or 10 minutes of use, it would overheat and shut down - I then had to wait about 10 minutes for it to cool off enough to run again. I understand this is not a commercial use product (and I am not using it that way) but if it's only designed for 6 sheets of paper and very short runs, then it should be described that way.
