So far so good. I love the easy to fill tanks and wireless printing!
Nice printer! It is large and needs to be on its own. Don't put this on your desk if you intend to work at your desk. I'm still learning all the features but it was easy to setup. Just follow their directions. The ink filled without a problem. Was worried it might spill in the process, but good engineering prevented that. Love how fast it prints and that it will take heavy weight paper. I used watercolor 80lb and feed through the back tray. Worked effortlessly.
It is ready to print very soon after powering up (probably less than 30 seconds). It prints fast and loads the next sheet of paper to print as it finishes printing the current sheet, thereby reducing printing time. Unpacking, filling with ink, and initial setup were easy. The touch screen works well.
This printer has been amazing. The Epson Eco-Tank ET-16600 all-in-one printer has been exceeding all my expectations. This machine is a “beast” it can handle all of my printing, scanning, and copying needs. (It also can fax, but I do not have a fax #) Set up was easy. We set the printer up wirelessly. We were up and running in 20 minutes. We have printed, copied and scanned and it is so much faster then any of our old printers. The scanning options were impressive too. Before it scans to your computer, a features box pops up so you scan in any format that you wish. As someone who has been scanning documents for years, I found that exciting. :-) It makes scanning much more streamlined, saving me time and aggravation. I also print coupons. In the past, the stores have had a hard time with scanning some of the codes due to lines from my old printer. I have not had any trouble since using this Epson Eco-tank. My coupons print clean and neat. Another great feature is how the paper tray handles. On our old printer, the tray had to stay out or the paper would fall to the floor. It was also a place our cats wanted to sit. But now with this Epson, the tray stays closed. When you send something to the printer the tray automatically comes out to hold the paper. No more worries about cats breaking the tray of papers landing on the floor. I can keep going on… I also make booklets for work from home. This printer handles the 11 x 17 paper that I use. It also duplexes, so it is handling all my work needs as well as my home needs. Overall, this is a winner. We (my wife and I) both love the print quality, the scanning options, and the ease of coping 2-sided. Installing the ink was impressive also. The ink is in special capped bottles. No mess when you turn it upside and lock it into place. Easiest ink replacement I have ever done. I will be doing a lot of printing, while saving money on ink replacements. I would recommend this printer for anyone that does a lot of various printing jobs. The Epson ECOTANK ET-16600 will turn your home in to a powerful work station. The product is an all in one wireless printer, It enables the individual to print,fax,scan, and make copies. The ECOtank does this with a unique ink delivery system that reduces the average cost to about two cents. The product replaces several different machines and puts all the power you need right at your fingertips . The setup of the printer was fairly easy. If you have a windows computer there is an enclosed CD rom. However, for my mac pro i just logged into a setup website that walked me thru the process. A generous supply of ink was enclosed and installation was fast with no mess. The printing process is quite fast, scanning went easy and resulted in good quality faxes. Brought this printer due to it's wide printing format. I use it for sublimation and it prints out great. The two trays are an added bonus. Best purchase thus far!
The wireless sometimes stops responding and have to be shutdown and restarted to work, But themain issue is the quality of the pigment print of pictures, tried all kinds of professional paper in 4x6 but the quality is abysmal, inkjets have more vibrant and true colors. The positive points are the wide format and the speed of printing, but not enough to justify. I wonder if I should have bought the 15000.
I have had this printer for more than a year. It has been the most difficult printer I have ever worked with. The print quality is ok. It just almost never works the first time, it must be restarted, the computer must be restarted, the data light will stay on for hours while you wait for it to print. Have tried it directly wired to the computer, have tried it through wifi, have tried it hard wire connected to the network, I have tried it with windows computers, I have tried it with Mac computers. Always seem to have to readjust something to get it to print.
This printer, as with most Epson printers is a complete piece of garbage. The only thing worse than the printer is the lack of support and the fact that Epson will excuse of lying, even if you can prove that you have only used Genuine epson printer refills. If you have been looking for a printer that does 12 x 18, you will quickly find that Epson is one of the only companies that can provide you that for this price point. However, you might as well throw your money in the garbage. The printer will work for a few months if you are lucky.
I have owned quite a few Epson printers. This is the worst I have purchased. For the high cost the print quality on glossy and Super B paper very poor print quality. Also a flimsy slide out paper output tray is of inferior design. I will be returning the printer and go back to repairing and using my old Epson stylus 1430. Even at an advanced age it is much better and more durable than this new one, I am quite disappointed,
