The NETGEAR Nighthawk DOCSIS 3.1 has been a fantastic purchase. It is working at a high level. I'm very happy with this modem!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this instead of having to pay for eternity the Xfinity cable internet and voice modem. Installation was a little tricky with xfinity support but once everything was registered, this CM2050V was providing gigabit internet speeds and voice perfectly. This was paired with a Netgear R7000 router that simply needed to be factory reset in order to properly synchronize to the CM2050V to get the gigabit speed that this cable modem was provisioned for. Now no more lag and latency issues while online with this awesome unit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Installation of my Netgear modem, CM2050V, with voice was seamless. This modem proved to be an excellent replacement of my Xfinity modem for all my wifi dependent utilities!
The CM2050V cable installed easily and exactly according to the instructions. The connection to xFinity went withhout a hitch. I am runnng a new Asus ET8 aimesh system with it and all is going well with,.of course, greatly increased speeds. Shockingly easy snd good so far and not my usual frustrating tech experience.
We have Comcast/Xfinity and upgraded from their up to 300 mbps limited data package to their up to 1000 mbps unlimited data package. Our old modem and router could not support the faster speeds and I didn't want to bother with researching new modems/routers, so we went with their all-in-one Gateway device (rented). We had issues from day one with the internet going out multiple times per week, sometimes for just a few minutes, sometimes longer. We also could no longer get a good signal in our basement or in one area on the top floor. We had never had this issue with our old Netgear modem & router. Comcast was never able to fix it and even told us nothing was wrong. I finally had enough and bought this modem along with the NETGEAR, I shed note I am using this with AX6000 WiFi Router (RAX120)
The modem is exactly what we needed to give us the speeds we pay for. We have it connected to the Orbi 960 system and it works beautifully. We don't subscribe to the voice services, but it's nice to know we have that capability with this modem if we decide to get the voice service in the future.
Finally I get amazing speeds
This modem does not work as advertised. There is an existing issue with this modem when connected on the XFINITY network and it gets provisioned for no more than 500M download speeds.
In late 2023 Xfinity/Comcast rolled back problematic firmware providing the old firmware that does not support Comcasts Mid-Split higher speeds, especially uploads greater than 20MB. It has been months and Netgear has no further information on the promised firmware fix. This devise is not recommended, although if you need phone support you may have few other choices.
COSTLY,DOSENT WORK PROPERLY,VERY INTERMITTENT CONNECTION, I HAVE A 1.2-1.5 GIG PLAN THROUGH XFINITY AND THIS PIECE COULD ONLY GIVE ME WHAT MY ARRIS MODEM WAS GIVING ME 600-800 MB.TOTALLY WORTHLESS!
