Panasonic eneloop hold their charge well even in storage. And they've worked well in all my devices. I have no reason to buy alkaline batteries anymore.
I replaced all the batteries in my Panasonic cordless phones with these Eneloop batteries. At first they did work much longer and sat better without losing power. But after a few months we are back to shuffling the phones back to the charger cradles and stuck with phones that lose power in a few days. So I am not sure what is going on with rechargeable batteries.
