I used to have hard time grinding the grains in the reg blender. This has made my job so easy. So fast, easy and so quickly we can clean the jar as well. Thanks vitamix!!
This is for the Grains container that goes with my vitamix. Makes excellent flour from a variety of grains, nuts, seeds or beans and grinds coffee perfectly
I love my Vitamix and use it almost daily. I purchased the dry grains container so I didn't have to hear my husband grind his coffee beans in his little grinder every morning. Now he can grind more at once and it only takes seconds!
Best purchase reliable machine and perfect compliment
This was purchased to mix dry grains when needed. The first food item I made was peanut butter using peanuts only. It mixed the peanuts into a nice smooth blend. The peanut butter was used by our grandchildren who found it delicious without any additives.
I actually have a very nice grain mill. It does a fantastic job when I want to grind large batches of grain. I purchased this for those times that I just wanted to do a small batch. It's perfect for grains that I don't keep a lot of. It won't grind it to the consistency of my larger mill but it gets it pretty darn close... close enough that I am still rating this with five stars!
I bought the Dry Grains container to chop the left over almond pulp after making almond milk. I tried using the wet container but the results weren't a fine enough blend. The dry container is specifically designed to push the dry ingredients into the blade for a much finder chop. Works great!
As the title says, it's very overpriced for what it is. It works okay, but I'm definitely not impressed. It has a tendency to create a vertical funnel of circulating material with a stagnant column of non-circulating outer material. This makes actually creating a homogeneous ground mix quite cumbersome, and renders the container no better than just “OK”.
The actual blend variance of fine to rough blend is not as varied a range as I would use. And if I want to blend up a bag of grains to store prepared to use as needed in my baking day, this is not possible as it heats up so high. So the blending of a bag of grain is slow. No more than two cups at a time. With waiting for cooling after two blends. As well the machine menu does not match the guide suggestion in the publication with instructions & recipes. It works enough, but I am not impressed.
This dry container that fits on the new Vitamix machine does not do nearly as well at grinding my flour as the old did. The old flour was fine and fluffy. The new ground flour is course and dense.
