[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is used to support a Sony PlayStation 4 gaming system, and it works quite well. It is a beautifully-styled product that will look attractive even if out in the open. The choice of LED colors is an added attraction that will likely appeal to gamers.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While my work in IT is a priority, my home network also requires a fair share of attention, and my users at home are MUCH more demanding. Having our router or one of the gaming systems go down in the middle of a Battle Royale will certainly upset the folks I care about most, and when Mom loses connectivity- ain't nobody happy. APC to the rescue! This purpose-built UPS is the ideal solution for keeping the fun alive when power isn't always reliable. It protects your expensive router and game platforms or PCs from damage caused by outages or inconsistent power. It has plenty of ports to connect everything and even includes USB charging ports for controllers or phones when needed. Add to that the fact that it matches the look of most modern consoles and is built like a tank and you have another sure winner from APC.
Works great so far! Love the ability to change colors, fun!
This UPS has worked well for a year now including a few power outages and several glitches. I liked the ability to select the sensitivity ranges. I also especially liked that the lighting that could be controlled to select a color that is agreeable and to provide light on the sockets in the back.
First!!! The led in the back, phenomenal!!! Dont know why this was never done before but being able to see the outlets and not use your phone light. Ingenious!! Now the unit itself, this thing is a beast of a machine. I cant even get this to get over 20% load and plugged in a vacuum cleaner and other household items and yeah nadda on the power hog!! Gaming is of no worries now!!! Console stays cool due to voltage stabilization and im getting almost 70 some minutes of backup displayed. Multi led on top lcd mount, another solid feature as one can see but its not blinding you either as a distraction. The white is oh so clean!!!! Major props APC. This thing is a winner in all sense
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product measures roughly 15 inches long, 11.5 inches high, and 4 inches wide. I haven't weighed it yet, but it's pretty heavy. This is partially due to the two backup batteries inside. I can run my main PC as well as my gaming laptop with no problems. I can see a multiple monitor gaming system running on this thing with plenty of load to spare. This APC unit comes with three USB ports (front), six backup and four surge outlets (rear), 1-GB surge-protected network ports (rear), surge-protected coax ports (rear), and a data port (rear) for the PC. All of these things are great, but sometimes its the simple things that get me. It comes with adjustable front and rear LED lights!! The rear LED is especially useful because it helps with seeing the plugs in the back. No more using your phone flashlight or pulling the unit out to see what is plugged in. You can also turn these off if needed. But, if you are like me and want it lit up, there are several colors to choose from. I have included pics of a few of the colors, but there are plenty more. Both front and rear can be changed. It also has the ability to silence the beeping when power is lost. This is another biggie for me. There is nothing more irritating than your power going out while you are trying to sleep and the constant beeping keeping you awake. This is by far one of the best features that APC has added to it's battery backups. To date, I haven't had an surges or power outages, so I can't speak to how long it stays up without power. Hurricane Elsa is headed my way though, so I'm sure it will get tested very soon.
Easy to hook up and get going. No issues. My only wish is that the LCD display would stay on all the time. It would be nice to see the watts all the time and not just when it's under load - even then, it cuts off too quick. Can this be added as a feature in a firmware update?
Always wondering who do not use battery outlets while using a UPS (so make all outlets battery ones). Other than that seems neat, just worriing about control app as it lack lots of needed features... First in mind, is oldest and now unsupported mails protocols...
I received this UPS a few days ago. I connected the battery and let it charge for several hours. After it was fully charged (the battery symbol had full bars), I tested it by plugging in my USB phone charger into the front of the device. It immediately clicked, gave and F02 error, and started smelling like ozone. I tried unplugging and restarting the device. I did the battery test by holding the power button for 6 seconds. As soon as this process started, it gave another F02 error. I tried Googling for solutions for several hours to no avail. This included performing a "brain dead" reset on the UPS: 1: Disconnect any attached load. 2: Unplug the UPS from the wall socket. 3: Disconnect the UPS' internal battery. 4: Push and hold the "On" button on the UPS for 5 seconds 5: Reconnect internal battery. 6: Plug UPS in to known good power source. 7: Turn UPS on. This didn't work either. I sent an email to customer support and am awaiting a reply.
