I like it, light, fast, easy to move around. Would be nice if offered in a black case. Following Apples minimalist design when they should have their own uniqueness. Still pretty expensive. Should put in a better graphics card by default. Could thin down the bezels and put in a larger screen and still retain the same size. Would be nice to have a 4K screen. Should have contrasting black keys rather than the matching silver keys which are harder to see. Should make the HP logo in the back glow. I knew all these things before buying so not complaining just saying they could make it even better for the next generation. Will likely buy another one anyway as I need to replace another machine.
I recently purchased this laptop for my husband and it has all the features he was wanting. A very large screen, easy to navigate Microsoft 11 and the HP support that is always excellent
I recently bought this to do a large number of photo editing projects and am so happy with the image quality and color brilliance. It is so easy to use, lightweight, and the perfect purchase for my needs.
This is a great laptop. Perfect size, not heavy/feels solid. Love the ease of use of the keyboard. Fabulous display! Crystal clear and sharp IPS w/gorilla glass. Unlike the fogginess of the anti-glare screen. I can sit in a chair and type away for hours without my legs going to sleep. Or work at my desk. The keys are close enough together to allow my short fingers to type with ease. The number key pad is a bonus. You won't be disappointed with this machine. It is perfect for seniors still tech savvy. So glad HP is still making 17" laptops! Thanks HP.....
I was needing to purchase a new laptop with specific features and after a lot of searching, I found this laptop and it was exactly what I was looking for! It always starts up quickly and has the performance speed that I need. I use it for both personal and business and I am so happy with it. I also use it to professionally edit photos (Lightroom and Photoshop) with my business, and the display is bright and accurate! I was also very impressed with the customer service I received! They were friendly, professional, and sent out my order right away and I received it in about a week. I use this laptop everyday and would purchase another one in a heartbeat if I needed an additional one!! If you're looking for a laptop with a larger screen and fast, consistent performance, THIS is the laptop you should purchase!
I bought this laptop about 3 months ago and have been mostly satisfied so far. I wanted the laptop quickly, so I did not customize the order but chose something that was ready to ship and would still suit my needs. It arrived quickly. I also liked that the data from my previous laptop was readily available. I do not recall this being the case with my previous laptop. My one complaint is that fingerprint login stopped working after less than 3 months, and I am unable to set it up again. I do not really like the idea of a fingerprint login being the primary login, especially if it is not going to work.
Compared to my previous HP laptop, this is great. My biggest feature on the HP Envy that the other one didn't have was the ability to disable the touchpad. I'm a mouse person so the touchpad isn't necessary for me. Keyboard is great. I like the size. The one weird thing is that the power button is right up there in line with the function keys instead of some separate place.
The laptop is awesome; it completely exceeded my expectations. I originally wanted a desktop for the size but the 17" display works just fine - I'm able to split screen easily. The touch is great, I love the design and its also very fast. It charges quickly and battery lasts a long time too, only charge once per day after using it consistently for work for 9 hrs, and inconsistently for a few hours outside work hours. I haven't tested the sound and camera yet.
This is a great laptop, but the keyboard is virtually invisible. This makes typing pure torture. Yes, the keys are backlit, but this makes the letters even more invisible when you're in a well-lighted room. The only time you can really see the keyboard is when it's dark. Good for watching movies or reading books, that's it. Forget about writing letters, emails, and anything else that requires the use of a keyboard.
Hi Just bought my 3rd 17" hp Envy laptop. Not real happy. Front is thinner which seems better, but it's has a straight edge that bothers me. Also harder to open since opening area is smaller, not the length of the laptop but only 3 inches in center. Works fine but not real happy with the physical design Bought on line and the representative was very nice and helped quite a bit. Steve
