Works well

This works very well. It gets hot very fast. So after it's heated up which takes about an hour you need to let it cool down for a while before it's warm enough to use. Inside there's a plastic white thing that goes on the bottom and they don't tell you but I called up and they recommend you remove that each time you use it . I left it in and it works fine. I also unplug it after each use? it's not good to keep it on all the time . There's an 800 number included in the instructions and you can call them with any questions

I have mild to moderate R.A. in my hands and was finding some things hard to do and there is discomfort. My daughter had used a similar item after hand surgery to help regain use . I decided to get a wax bath and see if it would help. I used ship to store and saved shipping costs and I find ship to store very convenient and have used if several times. I have now used the wax bath for a week and am pleased it is actually easing the stiffness in the joints ..It is very easy to use, just allow enough time before you want to use it for the was to melt. Does take a bit of time but I plan ahead and plug it in and it is ready when I want to use it.

I was offered by a manicurist to paraffin my hands for only $10. So I decided to look for one at home. I found this set as the teast expensive on the market. I works well so far. It does take a long time to melt and then you need to wait to let it cool down to a temp that is comfortable for you. I usually plug it in when I get up on Sundays. I do my errands etc and when I am ready the wax is melted. I turn the temp down to let it cool for about an hour which is about right for me. It took some trial and error but I can paraffin my hands and feet for a fraction of the cost at a salon.

this wax bath is great! an all right price easy to set up. This is my first and likely my last . I bought this bath because winter time especially is hard on hands and feet. Dry and cracking hands hurt so bad they bleed . This bath has solved the problem. I have size 11 women shoe and I use it on my feet but easy is dip front part then heal of foot in wax. This does work. Do it a few times then done. I have read many reviews saying bigger feet wont work. Very untrue. My family of 6 uses this bath and only needed to add wax when it gets low. Just make sure clean hands and feet go in. It says to put on high for 2 hours but wax melts befor then. Overall, this is exactly what it said it was. I look to have and use this item for a very long time

I bought this product for my husband's arthritis in his hands. He was introduced to it by his physical therapist. We ordered everything on line, it was delivered without a hitch and we've used it almost every day. It works wonderfully. Very effective and a lot better than taking meds. We're happy we found it on line through Walmart. Thank you.

Soothing and relaxing treatment. The skin on my hands has been very rough the past couple of months, with lotion not helping much. I remembered that I used to have a paraffin spa that would soften my hands, so my husband bought this one for me for our anniversary. We had to return this the first time. I put in the wax and turned it on high as directed in the instructions, but when I came back to it, there was a big crack through the base. It looked like the heat must have caused this; perhaps there was a hairline crack there which we didn't see, but the heat expanded it. Return was easy the the store and we ordered a second one. The second one did not have any problems. Unlike my old one, this one has different heat settings. After melting the wax, I turned it down to low heat and that was plenty warm for a nice soothing treatment. It takes a bit of practice to be able to do both hands and get into the mitts, but it is very relaxing. Open up two of the bags and cuff the ends and have the mitts ready and the Velcro unfastened. That way, you can dip your hand, scoop the baggie onto it and pull it down with the hand already in the mitt.

works well, but takes time for it to melt wax, and then I needed it to cool down on low setting before it became a comfortable temperature. The whole process took me 3 hours before I could dip my hands in it. After use, it did soothe aches and my hands felt very soft. Patience is a virtue in the case of this product, but the bath is effective.

I cannot give it a 5 star because my item turned out to be an "open box", not a brand new item. I am assuming I was sent a return item. The packaging carton inside was torn and the wire was messed up, it was clear that somebody had opened this box before me and returned. It looks unused though, but I personally don't lik receiving opened or returned merchandise. As for the bath itself, it looks good. The paraffin that comes with it has lots of oils in it. And it DOES melt fast! Temperature is fine. The paraffin is scented, smells like "rain" fragrance, I am ok with that. The price is good. The same very set is sold for over $42+ and shipping on Amazon. So it's a good deal.

This product came with everything included and was the same bath used with the professional hand therapy I had. But the thermostat must be off, because even on the lowest heat setting and even shut off, the wax is still too hot for comfort. I am very disappointed and would not recommend this product. I gave it two stars because it was reasonably priced and included the mitts, plastic bags and paraffin. Although I used my own paraffin, as the included ones had too strong of scent.

Good and Bad

The price of this item was very reasonable and with the Dr. Scholls brand I expected a quality product, however, we had a couple of issues. The first issue we encountered was the amount of wax that was included-----there was just 2 lbs of wax which was not adequate to provide enough wax to dip the entire hand. The second issue we had was in trying to completely coat the hand with wax, his finger touched the metal plate at the bottom which caused a red painful spot ----almost like a blister. We are going to try to buy more wax so that when the hand is dipped in, it would be less likely to touch that bottom plate.
