A few years ago I started suffering significant hair loss. At the age of 28, it was devastating. And very noticeable since I like to keep my hair dyed black. This product has done wonders in concealing my hair loss. Theres a little bit of a learning curve on applying it as it sprays out very fast. It washes out easily with shampoo. The only issues I have with it is if you touch your hair throughout the day, it will get on your hands and under your fingernails. But that is not enough for me to rate it less. I absolutely cannot leave the house without it. A great product I would recommend if you have thinning, dark hair.
I have grey at my temples that is impossible to cover. This magic root is truly magic. I spray on both temples and it makes my hair look thick there too!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was told about the L'Oreal Root Cover Up by my sister and best friend as well. I've purchased the root cover up for 6 months now, and have been so satisfied! I don't have to worry about damaged, colored hair. It actually gives an hombre look to the root if you spray it and brush down. I've had so many compliments. :)
I always used this product when covering up the grey in between coloring. It was also a fabulous tool when I decided not to color anymore and go full on grey. You can imagine the interim time where you look like a raccoon? I would spray this when it was only a little grey, then as I progressed, I would spray it her and there, kind of like highlighting, then I stopped using it. Two years ago now and completely grey and loving it. Thanks Loreal for the help with the transition
I want to leave an outstanding review on this product. I'm so afraid they will discontinue it and I've never found anything that works so good on my hair. I was a true strawberry blonde all my life until I started to gray. NOTHING covered the gray or looked like my natural hair color till this came along. And it's so easy. I just lightly spritz it on and brush it thru and it looks so natural. Love it love it love it!!!
Ok , I first bought the Dark Blond. I have brown hair with highlights but I now have silver roots I am 68 But the Dark BLond sprayed out darkish brown., I then decided to get the Medium Golden Brown. Would you believe this color is a bit lighter than Dark Blond? They messed up naming the color in the bottles. Plus when you spray your roots you have to cup your other hand so the spray doesn't get on your shirt, like I did. When you get it on your skin, I always have to get a piece of toilet tissue with a tad of soap to wash off my skin. Also wash my hands. Otherwise I found the right color but they need to fix the names, they are misleading. I should have taken them out of the box and sprayed on a tissue in the store first. People complain about it feeling tacky; This spray is for your roots around your face, not your all your hair.
Hey L'Oréal! Do you read reviews? FIX THE NOZZLE AND SPRAY PROBLEM! This is a great product except for the spray bursting out of the can like a fire extinguisher. It's impossible to spray it in the right place (around forehead and temples for me). Also, we need bigger cans. These are great for travel but come on, give us something that's bigger for home use. Such easy fixes but I'm tired of waiting and looking for a better product.
How excited was I to be chosen to review L'Oréal Paris Root Cover Up. I received my free sample, I could hardly wait to try it. Everyone knows roots suck but grey roots are just plain ugly. Could this be that magical product I've been searching for? I was ready to get down to business & see the results for myself. After applying I was impressed with the results of the colour match & coverage. I did have to go over and respray to cover a few short wirey stubborn greys. I found it gave my hair instant volume that's a plus! Now the real test. After allowing it to dry for sometime... I ran my fingers through my hair & to my disappointment I had black all over the palm of my hands. Also the texture of my roots felt thick & stiff. It reminded me of the Halloween spray colour I used as a kid. This product is not for me. I'd be too paranoid I'd break out in a sweat or get caught in the rain & have my very own George Costanza moment with black spray dye dripping down my face in the most embarrassing scenario. But in all seriousness if you have roots & you're in between dye jobs this product does deliver coverage.
I bought this a few weeks ago to touch up the roots on my hair which is blonde and I bought the blonde root touchup and I have sprayed it on my hair today and it has made my hair dark cabinet and what the rates were actually disgusted as I paid quite a lot of money for this product for not to work
I bought this 2x and I honestly feel so stupid for doing that! At first I had good results than towards the end of the first can it wouldn't wash out... like for days! I read reviews and thought I just not have held it far enough away. So I let the holidays and me not wanting gray roots to show, get the better of me so I gave it another try. Used it before a dinner with our bosses and it left my hair greasy, stiff and feeling like straw. I held it further away- more like 8-9” and did quick sprays and it still left it feeling like I just sprayed a can of hairspray on my hair.. I quickly washed it twice, dried it and it was greasy, stiff and like straw. Please tell me how to get this out besides clarifying shampoo which didn't work. It is embarrassing bc it makes you look like you didn't wash your hair at all for about a week! It is awful and I would never want anyone else to use this. Buyer beware. There has to be a better brand out there. FIX THIS PRODUCT!!
