I bought this and I thought how convenient, especially for glitter Polish! But then I decided to use it on my skin around my nail as a goof proof method of just simply peeling off mistakes or when I like to ombre my polishes, works great for that!
I used this to apply some press on nails and it did the job. Finding new ways to keep my nails last a bit longer for an affordable price is not bad at all. Try it out and see how you like it.
What a great product. I love the sparkle and glitter polishes, but absolutely hate trying to get them off. The Big Peel makes it so easy to wear glitter polish and change colors as often as you wish, easily and without a lot of hassle.
I just found out about peel-off base coats and was anxious to try one. I went to Walmart looking for the OPI version but they only had this Sally Hanson one. I decided to try it and am NOT disappointed! I did apply 2 coats of the base since I wasn't sure if my first coat was thick enough (the directions say to apply a thicker coating). After that I added one thick layer of glitter polish and then my typical top coat (Seche Vite). I had read a review for another product that said using Seche Vite would make it too hard to get the polish off but that wasn't the case for me. I will say that I'm not sure how long this lasts. I did my nails Monday night, on Tuesday night one nail of polish randomly fell off (leaving no residue or damage behind), and then tonight (Wednesday) I got bored and peeled them off. However, they didn't seem to be peeling up or anything and I did have to "push" at the edges to get them off so I'm thinking they would have lasted the week. I even did dishes, took hot showers, and washed my hair without them falling off (I was in a store when the random one fell off). And when I did decide to remove them, I simply pushed up the edge and then peeled them off - again, no residue or damage at all. The pictures here show my nails about 10 seconds apart, without leaving my seat, without washing my hands, and without the aid of any polish remover. I didn't even use an orange stick to get the polish up - just the side of another nail. Anyway, I'm really impressed with this product and can't wait to use it again!
-I love it. I was hesitant to get a cheap peel off base coat because I didn't want it to peel off instantly. I was pleasantly surprised of how well it has stayed on! I painted my nails Friday and it is still perfectly on today (Monday). I have showered and been pretty ruff with my nails too. -As for how well it peels off. I have peeled two of my nails and it peeled just fine. East and quick! -The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I may or may not being having a reaction from it. Two of my fingers have been pretty sore since the day after I used it and it is the only thing different in my routine. I don't think its anything serious, it seems like it is going away.
I have used it several times. I don't file or buff my nails. I rub oil all over my bare nails to condition them then I spray them with a nail prep and wipe it off. They need to be really clean and dry. You can use an alcohol pad. Let it dry until your nail looks matte. I do two thin coats and let each coat dry until it is clear. It is a lot faster. Make sure you get it under the tip. It lasts 4 days before it starts to chip a little. The more layers you put on the better it works so it does work perfectly for glitters and nail art. It holds up to doing dishes, and I also wash my hands probably twenty times a day. To take it off I rub a teaspoon of natural oil ( grapeseed, jojoba, apricot, almond)all over my hands. I use an orange stick to start the lift around the cuticle edge. As soon it lifts a little, I rub the oil That's on my fingers under the edge. If you pull slowly and let the oil penetrate as you go it will come off in one piece and your nail will be super conditioned. I have not used any acetone on my nails in weeks.
Pros: it definitely does what it says it does. This is a very effective peel off base coat. It works the best with glitter polishes/very thick polishes. For thinner polishes or those that don't have glitter, it is just "OK", but still works. Cons: There is a learning curve. The instructions say to apply a thick layer, but I've found that it's not the best application method. I prefer two very thin layers. Otherwise, the base pools and takes 10+ to fully dry in the pooled areas. It is glue-based, so of course it smells like glue. If this product were a little better at removing non-glitter polishes in one piece and dried faster, I'd give it 5 stars. I still really like it, though!
Whenever I use this peel off base coat, it doesn't do the peeling. I literally have to scratch and pick at it for about five minutes just to clear my nail. I would have to put at least two coats to stop that from happening. If the scratching or picking won't work, I have to go back to where I started before and get out the nail remover and q- tips. It would save me a lot more time to just not put on a base coat at all. Honestly, it's just really annoying a big hassle.
I have used this product more than 5 times and it has not worked a single time. I followed the directions and applied one thick coat and waiting till it dried. Not only did it take WAY longer to dry that it says on bottle it was almost impossible to peel off. When I got a section to finally peel off it was like a was just peeling the polish off and only got a small portion of one nail at a time. When the polish actually peeled off it was ripping layers of my nail off! When I then tried to take the rest off with nail polish remover, the glue bas peel off left my nails gunky and was hard to get all the way off. I bought this product not damage my nails, because I paint my nails a lot, but it ended up leaving them worse off then when I started.
Polish DOES NOT STAY ON with this base coat. I just wasted time polishing my nails (and now they look horrible because they are peeling). This is the worst base coat I have EVER tried. What a waste of money!
