Works just like I hoped. Keeps our medium size dog from getting to the litter boxes but cats go through the door easily. I can step over it without a problem. Glad I ordered it.
How easy it was to put up, its just the right size for my little lady. And easy for me to get over.
Very sturdy gate, even with an extension added. Love the shorter gate for smaller dogs. The gate is nice looking and much easier to step over. This gate wouldn't be my first pick for spots where you're going to need to take it up and down all the time due to the way you secure it. It's not difficult, but definitely takes a little more time. Love the pet door too. My dog goes in and out the door with ease.

This is the perfect height to keep my dog (Husky) out, but allow my cats through the pet door. Plus, it's not too tall for me to just step over. I'm very happy with my decision to purchase two of these gates for such a minimal price.
This gate is what we had been looking for for a long time. We had been using children gates but they were too tall. We couldn't step over them and we had to completely remove them to go into another room. With the Carlson gate that is only 18inches tall, we can easily step over this gate to move from room to room. The little doggy gate is the perfect gate for our little chihuahua to run from the living room to her kennel. We did need to purchase an addition extension in addition to the 2 that are provided but we have an extremely large doorway into our hallway. For most homes with everything which is provided in the product, you shouldn't need to get any additional pieces. If you have more than one small to medium-small dogs this gate is perfect for you! Dogs will be stopped from moving from room to room and only the dog you want to be allowed through will get in. Only wish I would have found this gate years ago! That you Carlson for thinking about the needs of smaller dog owners!!
So if you extend the side screws, you wind up creating a gap that's bigger than the spaces between the bars. I got this for my puppy and she gets through the 2 sides. Good concept, but the bars should be closer to the ends of the product to prevent this issue. Even with adding a piece of wood to this to make the gap smaller, my pup gets through.
I thought it was pressure that held the gate in the doorway but it had to be mounted on the door frame. Height perfect and I have 2 dogs that like to claim my bedroom as theirs by marking in competition. Can't do that now! Little dog door is stupid and a fence w/o that could be cheaper. Nice to have that option
Poorly made. Falls apart it you need to move it. Door fell off 1st time my 4lb puppy went thru it. The dimensions are not correct. If you take the extension off, you have a gap that puppy gets right through. If you leave the extension on it will not fit a 30 inch door. I had to caddy-corner it to my wall. Will probably return it. Should of bought the one with the black rubbers on the sides. That one work fantastic and cheaper
The gate said it was 48" however that was with the extensions that hold it in place. After setting it up my Morkie ran right through the side of it because the space was to large.
