The cage had excellent instructions and was easy to assemble. Transports in car easily. Other products hang nicely on the sides of cage. Love the color teal. The cage is large but compact at same time. Has great access to get my baby out and to feed.
I find the cages to be very sturdy,I have inserted Plexic glass sheets that are held up by the screws from the corners, Every couple of weeks I take it outside and powerwash it down. if anyone knows about lories they can be very messy! I have had these cages for about 6yrs. They are still as sturdy as the first day I put them together..... very happy with this purchase.
I just put in my review but wanted to add one more thing. Pauly, my Canary, loves that Spray Millet. It usually makes a small mess outside the cage. I had bought a Millet holder but it was hard for him to reach all the seeds, so then I used a clip and would clip it to the cage which made it easier. With this cage, you get 2 double feeding dishes, which are too big for his food, but it works great to lay the Millet Spray on one and it keeps the mess in the plastic dish. Those double dishes also came in handy when putting the cage together. I used them to separate the different size screws and the washers and nuts.
First I want to say Hayneedle was fantastic. The cage came on time and in perfect condition. It was shipped from A&E and they packaged it very secure. I just bought a male Canary. I love him. He sings and is much easier to take care of than the Green Wing Macaw I had for the summer of 2008. This is my 3rd and last cage for Pauly. I originally purchased a hanging round cage but I didn't think it was big enough. Then I purchased a tower cage which had much more room, but he wasn't able to fly. After reading a book on Canary's, it said they need length, not height. I spent a week or 2 looking at all the cages online. I kept skipping over this one originally, but one night after knowing all the prices I took a better look and read all the great reviews, so I was sold. I am so happy and more important, Pauly is happy too! He flies all around this cage. And it is so sturdy on it's own stand I don't have to worry about my Persian Molly or Chihuahua Dolly getting at Pauly. I put it together in less than an hour. In reference to other reviews. As long as you make sure when putting the bars on the stand, that the tabs are facing up, no problem of it feeling like it will fall off stand. Also many people didn't like the top doors saying they don't stay shut. They do, in fact they are quite snug. The tab on the door has to go over the 1st bar on the cage when you are closing it. If it's too snug, or hard to pull over the 1st bar you can bend the tab a bit to adjust the tension. Also, on the top of the pictures you see my window boxes I just brought in the house. I just put them there, but they are getting wrapped and down to the basement for the winter. However, what I did do was take a magnetic curtain rod and attached it to the top of the cage, then put 2 lightweight nylon shower curtains with rings to go over the rod and it is so easy to open and close when he needs to be covered. I highly suggest buying this cage. I got it in white because it will go with everything, but I saw some other pictures and all the colors are nice.
I must say, this bird cage is much more than I expected. I'm not saying I believe hayneedle has below par products, but for the price, I wasn't expecting such a high quality cage! I have 4 Parakeets, and they LOVE their new home. This bird cage is VERY well constructed. As other comments suggested, the directions to put it together are not great, but if you have good common sense, you'll figure it out. The wire is extremely durable, and the black color is highly recommended. The storage space is a definite plus! I was going back in forth between this cage and a different one on this website. If you are feeling the same way, I can't say enough that this is the cage for you! You're bird(s) will definitely be glad you took my recommendation. C'mon, put it in your checkout cart already! LOL
I have an african grey parrot, And I was looking for a cage for a long time, When I saw this cage i took a risky chance knowing it was actually a flight cage, but my girl has plent of room to play and having a flat top makes it easy to have a playtop. This cage is amazing for people with medium large parrots like greys and smaller cockatoos or some one with alot of small birds. But i just want to let all the bigger bird owners not to be afraid I took the chance and it was worth it had the cage a year now and couldt be happier! I live in an apartment and people are wowed by the size of the cage but it doesnt cramp up my house either. Excellent couldnt be happier!
It's sturdy and a lot bigger than I had thought. My sugar glider absolutely loves it! The locks on the doors are great and the tray is super easy to clean :) the only downside to this was the instructions, but its not hard to figure it out for yourself. Oh and it's much easier with a second pair of hands. Overall very pleased !!
I like the size of this cage it is perfect for a few parakeets.cleaning is very easy and there is plenty of room for perches and toys with room for the birds to move around. the wheels make it easy to put infront of the window during the day. the side door clasps could b designed alittle better but all in all it is a great cage.
I own a Sun Conure and I love this cage. Its really big enough for two or maybe three Sun Conures. It took me a while to get it set up, but its not rocket science. I picked the blue and it is really pretty. The only thing I didn't like about this cage was that one of the bolts didn't line up with the hole, so that one had to be wired. The shelf on the bottom is really handy, but the pull out tray is a little deformed. It will still work though. All in all its a very nice cage and worth the money. I belive this cage will outlast my bird:(
I had been searching online for months for the perfect flight cage for my english budgies. I didn't want to spend more than about 150. This was the only one of this size and quality that I could find near my budget. I put it together by myself. Took about an hour and a half. Wasn't too difficult. And I was very pleased with finished product. I chose sandstone which I had heard comes out pink from some manufacturers, but I wouldn't call it pink at all. Its a very nice warm beigy color. My birds love it and so do!
