This stuff is so cool,I honestly think,I enjoy looking at it more then the bird enjoys eating this stuff. So colorful!!! I just love the idea of giving this to yoohoo because it is packed with vitamins! Only time will tell. Awesome product. Thank you! 5 stars !!!!!
Parakeets love this food.
These pellets are a wonderful alternative to seeds. They are more nutritious for my birds, make less of a mess and he loves them.
I love the scent of it personally. Looks appealing too, cute and colorful. Bird seemed to enjoy it not its first choice but bird still seemed to enjoy. First choice it seemed to like for its breed so makes sense however this is a very good product that seemingly meets all the standards of good health for the bird
I'm an active animal rescuer and foster home. We currently have fifteen animals under our care, six of which are budgies. Whenever we received budgies, we often find that they've been primarily on a seed-based diet and are picky eaters. I try to gradually introduce them to pellets by mixing with their bird seed, before making the slow and steady shift to a pellet-only diet. I had never actually tried Kaytee Exact Rainbow food before; we had been feeding a different, high quality pellet. But we saw these recommended as an affordable alternative to what we were using, so we decided to give it a try. I will say, some of our budgies who are already fond of pellets seem to eat these fine. There are larger pieces that they won't consume, so those usually get picked out and/or discarded at the bottom of the flight cage. I am removing two stars as a result of Kaytee not offering specific packaging for the larger pieces, as well as the smaller ones. Rather than lumping lovebirds and parakeets together, I believe that the smaller pellets should be catered to parakeets, and a different product (with the larger pellets) could be sold for lovebirds. As a result of them combining these vastly different pellet sizes in one bag, there is a considerable amount of waste. Overall, I think these pellets are okay, and perhaps over time our rescue budgies will learn to pick at the big pieces, but for now... it's a bit of a loss. I would never turn these away as donations, but I would certainly never purchase this product again.
I've tried to get my birds to eat.....they refuse! Other than that it's ok.
