I got this product for my sister in laws. Smells good and leaves hair soft and conditioned. Caused no damage to fine hair. Their hair color is medium/dark brown with some golden and strawberry highlights when the sun hits it. They both ar3 grown out partial balayage and decided to try a box dye for the first time in their life. This one looked safe for both natural hair with sensitive skin as well as highlights. Activator bottle has a screw top, didn't have to look for scissors to open it. The application process was smooth and easy and the scent was pleasant! The conditioner was lightly scented smooth and also washed out easily . it washed out nicely from the scalp. Overall it was a great product. They were so pleased with the color results!
I liked how easy it was to use for someone that already has blonde hair. I mainly bought this color just to lift my grown out roots a few shades lighter. However, the colors shown on the side of the box didnt exactly match up (which should generally be expected with box color considering it doesnt account for undertones already present in the hair). I already have medium blonde hair with areas of lighter blonde (level 9-10). Over all I think it actually darkened my color some due to the ash tone. For a box color, it served its purpose. I would definitely get a lighter color next time, as this was darker than stated on box.
Love the overall color, dislike the brassiness towards the roots and the fact my scalp weeped for 2-3 days resulting in crunchy hair and discomfort but with 3 rounds of purple shampoo and purple conditioning mask, it's made me overall happy :) pic is after 2 rounds each. Left on 40min I believe. Had mousey cardboard kinda brown before (L'Oréal's 8.5A champagne blonde before this)
I ordered Medium Natural Blonde and was given medium blonde , I hope its not an ash blonde since are no longer being properly descriptive. and even though it does say its a nm. 8 color formula the pic on box lóoks much much lighter then what I ordered .
I'm not sure if the actual product has a problem or works well yet. BUT, the box of hair dye only came in a VERY thin bubble mailer and nothing else to keep it from smashing inside the mailer. It should have come in a box with bubble wrap around it. For that reason, I give only 3 stars.
I have bought this dye more than 3 times online, I love the color. But this time it came well packaged on the outside, however one of the boxes was open and the conditioner was missing. The store should check carefully before sending a product to a customer.
Damaged... leaked all over the box. The tip of the bottle was actually broken off. Looked intentional but I wasn't there when the packaged the items so I don't know. It wouldn't let me do one star. Then they expect me to take the soaked box back in for a refund or replacement??
Even though I buy the same color tint , it really mess me up , a different color was in the box and instead of the color in the box, a different color came out , now I have the wrong color in my head and I’m so mad . I hate it , won’t write anything else because I can be to aggressive.
I've used preference for 20 years. I use the medium brown number five. I naturally have a medium brown hair. I have always been very pleased with this product. However, they have recently changed the formula so beware! The last three boxes I have used have been horrible. It turns my hair an orangey brown and I can't stand orange undertones. In addition, the new formula will only last two weeks so my dye job is gone after two weeks. I'm just going to have to change to a different brand because I just can't be dying my hair every two weeks. It's not healthy. In addition, I'm not getting the color I want anyway. So what's the point? I don't understand why product manufacturers will go and, change a good thing. This is one of the top dyes on the market for over-the-counter and I don't know if they're cutting corners or what but this was a big mistake. Now I need to research what to replace my favorite dye with ☹️. The photo is two weeks after my dye. It used to dye it a rich brown. Now it's just a red mess.
I don't know if someone switched the color in the box or what but this is clearly not medium blonde I put the color on my hair I went and went and did the dishes set the timer and when I came back my take a shower and looked at the color in the mirror before I did it was brown when I rinsed it in the shower I got out and it was still brown so yeah, this is not medium blonde it's brown not anything close to my natural color which is the whole idea of coloring your hair is to keep it as close to your natural color as possible!
