I have been using Loreal Melting Gel for over a decade. At one point it seemed to have been discontinued, then it reappeared again. This is the only gel I use on my hair, which is long, thick & curly. Recently, it seems as if none of the suggested retail stores have this gel. Online sellers are being ridiculous with the prices. I need my gel! Where can I find it???
I've tried dozens of products on my wavy hair, and this is far and away the best one, I've been using it for years. I can't even begin to understand why it's discontinued, because the Clean Gel that all the stores stock now is terrible, sticky, stiff, residue-y.
I've been using this product for many years. I had no clue that it had been discontinued otherwise I would've stocked up to have enough for years! I am literally so sad that I won't be able to use this product again. I'll cherish the little bit that's left in the tube. It would bring so much joy to my life if L'Oréal would listen to their customers and give us what we love. L'Oréal, you created a great product, please don't break or hearts and bring the Melting Gel back.
I absolutely love this gel it is the best I have ever found and have I ever tried a lot. Great for curly and wavy hair. Have never tried it while straightening... but it is amazing. Defines curls and your hair is still soft! It's unheard of. Looks like my hair just naturally does it and I am wearing nothing at all. I have tried many super expensive products and have never had the same turn out. Please do not discontinue it, change the look, whatever, but I love it. I thought it had been discontinued because they stopped carrying it everywhere that I usually look, but carry all the other products in the line. CVS does not have it. But found it one day in walgreens and am just thrilled it is still available.
I have tried several hair gel products in my life, and this, BY FAR, is the best product I've ever used!!!! The Melting Gel allows me to let my hair dry without it feeling like wires in my hair. My curls are PERFECT with this product, and it leaves my hair feeling soft and manageable. I can move about my day, and my hair maintains it's form without feeling heavy. Please keep this product on the market!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have used this gel for years but can no longer find it in any store. Please tell me it isn't being discontinued! It is absolutely the best gel I have found for my short curly hair.... light-weight, not sticky, not stiff when it dries. My husband even loves it for his short, straight hair. I have tried the Clean Gel from the same line and it's just not the same.
This product works great on my curly hair. I am mixed and have perfect ringlets (pretty much like a slightly pulled telephone cord), most gels are either too thick and end up making my curls really tight and frizzy or too thin and don't even make a difference. The Melting Gel works perfect to hold the curl and eliminate frizz without being crunchy or stiff. My hair stays soft and movable as if I wasn't using a product at all. When styling I do use a leave in conditioner to comb out all knots, then I section my hair and apply the Melting Gel combing it through each section with my fingers. Because my hair is so curly, as I comb the gel through with my fingers, the curls just bounce right up. Once I am finished applying the gel, I turn my head upside down to just shake the curls a bit and let my hair air dry...year round. I have tried MANY, MANY other gels and NOTHING else I've tried has worked...only the L'Oreal Paris Studio Light Headed - Melting Gel.
Awesome. It is light and non-sticky. No frizzies with this one. I love it, and I have tried them all. Best buy, too!
I've been using L'Oreal Melting Gel for around 25 years, and it seems that L'Oreal has discontinued it. Like this purchase, I find it, occasionally, at not altogether unreasonable prices, and usually through Walmart; BUT there are plenty of exploitive eBay merchants out there whom I refuse to patronize. $30-$50 for a product, that originally sold for around $3, is 'highway robbery'!\nAnyway, why I like it? It's the only product that I've ever found that gives the shine and body to my hair that I've come to expect, over the years. I use light applications of other products for firmer hold, but that's OK. I only bought three tubes at a little over $9 each, and am already regretting my frugality. The supplier is now out of it, and I can't find any others under $20-something.
Best product I have ever used! I've tried a lot of products and I keep coming back to this one. My baby fine curly hair is never crunchy/stiff, or weighed down. I let my hair air dry, finger comb and fluff then I'm done. Great hold. My husband uses this also; his hair never looks greasy or flat. Never flakes off if too much is put in. Light, fresh, neutral smell; smell doesn't compete with perfume. I highly recommend this product!
