I have always had natural dark blond hair (well, the color is difficult to define - something like honey/straw/cooper blond), and liked that a lot. When I have recently noticed that my hair is loosing the natural lightness and becoming a tad darker and more to the gray shade side, I decided to look for something to enhance the color. I have bought shampoo, balsam and spray. While shampoo and balsam are nice, I did not notice immediate change. However, the spray did what it was advertised. I usually do not color my hair, nor use hair-dryers, so they are quite healthy. After using 3 times as advised, the hair shade became lighter. My hair stylist did not find any hair damage and agreed that the lighter color suits me better than the one growing back. However now I am wondering how to refresh color on the roots. While the color difference is not very pronounced and I would not advice to lighten dark hair or roots, it works great to accent your natural color. The photo shows difference between the freshly grown hair at the root (several cm) and lighter downwards.
I'm naturally a dark chocolate brunette but within the last 2 years I wanted a drastic change. I only get a full head of highlights when I go to the salon, I do not completely dye my hair. This spray, along with the go blonder shampoo and conditioner, has forever changed my hair and the way I feel about myself. It keeps the color consistant and it's brilliant for root touch ups. I don't even want to wash my hair with any other product because I've become so obsessed with keeping the color! The spray is also great to apply before a day outside, I did that last summer and I saw major results. I recieve compliments all the time about how fantastic the color is and my friends are amazed at how blonde I stay all the time! Honestly, I use it on my roots. I have naturally dark brown hair. I keep the top half bleached bright blonde, almost white. When my roots start coming in, I spray this on my roots and then blow dry with some heat, and it just blends right into the blonde. I absolutely love it!! I also use Sun-In. It depends on which one is on sale.
LOVE this product! I have blonde hair but don't want to pay to have my roots done when they grow in. I live at the beach and my hair naturally lightens from all the ocean swimming I do. I use this on my roots 1-2 times a month year round. My stylist can never believe that I don't get professional lightening done elsewhere! Would only recommended using a few times a a month as too much will dry out your hair. Few times a month is just what I need. I use this along with John Freida's Blonde Shampoo and Conditioner a few times a week.
I absolutely LOVE this product. It preformed exactly the way that it describes and the affordability cannot be beat. I was an originally blonde from birth but when I turned 17 I noticed my color becoming more of a dark blonde and I had always considered highlighting my hair to regain the sunlight color that I was missing. I eventually decided to highlight my entire head when I was 19, needless to say I was disappointed with the lack of lightening that occurred and the price was just sky high. I was upset for a week straight because no one I knew had noticed a difference in my hair and I barely noticed a change as well. It was then that I turned on the television and saw the Go Blonder hair products commercial and I figured that I had already spent so much money and not to mention time (over 3 hours) in the salon that what's one more try? So that day I went and bought the Go Blonder lightening spray and the first thing I noticed was the price, it was actually affordable, and the smell was close to other John Frieda products. I then proceeded to try the spray that day. After applying, blow drying, and flat ironing my hair I noticed a slight change. The packaging clearly states that it is a gradually lightening spray so I was happy with the results of my first application. After my second application I had gone to work and many of my coworkers noticed that my hair was lighter, I was thrilled. After my fourth application of all over lightening I reached the light blonde color that I had been missing. I could not believe that one product that was so affordable and easy to use would work so well. I work in a customer service related industry and when customers would compliment me on my new lighter blondness I knew I had to give praise to where it was due. No one could believe that I lightened my hair myself with just the John Frieda Go Blonder Lightening Spray, my hair looked professionally done and healthy. I recommend this product to at least one new person a week and mostly because of all the compliments that I still am receiving from both people who knew the darker blonde me and people who I have met as a Go Blonder Blonde. I cannot rave enough about this product and it has made me a John Frieda customer for life. Thank You!
I used this product before when I was in Mexico. My hair that night went from dirty to platinum blonde. It was so easy and didn't feel like it damaged my hair at all! 5 stars!
I have been using nice n easy to get my medium brown hair to a blonde color. but since I found this product I will just use it..after FIRST use, you could notice it was lighter...and each time I use it, it continues to lighten it..I LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT and will never go back to boxed color...simple to use..I am a 60 year old great grandma and I have been coloring my hair since I was about 14..so a long time and this is the BEST PRODUCT I have ever used.I am also using the lightening Shampoo, which I did use prior to buying the spray...both products are ok..will be buying the conditioner and another bottle of the spray..
The product claims to be suitable for all hair types, but it clearly isn't. I have light brown hair and used this product hoping to lighten it a little for summer. To my disappointment, my hair now looks bleached and sometimes appears yellow or orange instead of blonde. I would not recommend this product to anyone with darker hair colors.
product works great BUT the design of the spray bottle is terrible!! just got it and it NEVER sprayed product,I had to use my hands as the whole spray gadget broke before it would even spray so i am returning this one because it's defective ( it actually looks like it was designed to save money but think again!!! yes, i am FURIOUS!
I have natural blonde hair and have always gotten compliments on my beautiful hair which I've never had to dye or highlight, which I was always grateful for! However, my light blonde hair started to get darker in about my mid twenties and had turned to a medium ash blonde color. I missed my lighter shade of blonde. I still didn't want to dye my hair so I decided I would try this lightening spray. I used it three times, and instantly my hair did lighten up. However, along with a lighter shade my hair also turned an awful orangey pink color! I instantly regretted using this product. I went from not having to color or do any hair treatments to spending over $300 for toner treatments at a salon and for aveda purple shampoo and conditioner to tone down the pinky orange color. It luckily did get back to a more natural shade, however, every time I'm in the sun my hair goes right back to orange! The photo attached is even after toning. I've been growing my hair out for over 2 years and I have about another 1-2 years until the ugly orangey pink color will finally be gone and I can move on from my mistake of using this product.
