I have been using the Anti-Residue Shampoo for over 30 years and still have my hair. I have not gone bald. The shampoo has kept my hair viable and clean.
I started using this because I let my hair grow and now need some hair spray to keep it out of my face. I noticed with my regular shampoo that I still had a residue in my hair after I washed it. My sister told me about this and it works, it smells great, and really makes my hair shine.
This is a great Clarifying shampoo. I stopped using it when I started to color my hair, that's how well it works!! It's not drying but you do get rid of a lot of impurities!!!!!! I used it every other wash. Great price and really works. If I decide to go natural again, this will be first on my list!!!!
I love this shampoo so so much!!!! First of all, it has pleasant smell and so much lather. It completely removes residue, refreshes my scalp once a week. Sadly, I have no idea why it is not easy to find the shampoo on the shelves or it sometimes is overpriced.
WE LIVE IN A AREA THAT DOES NOT HAVE CITY WATER SO WE HAVE A WELL. EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE A FILTER IRON STILL GETS THROUGH. NEEDLESS TO SAY MY HAIR BEGINS TO TURN ORANGE AFTER A WHILE AND BECOMES VERY DRY AND BRITTLE. I HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING FROM VINEGAR TO AVOCADO AND EVERY OTHER SHAMPOO OUT THERE SOME COSTING UP IN THE $20 RANGE AND NOTHING WORKED UNTIL I FOUND NEUTROGENA ANTI-RESIDUE SHAMPOO. I USE IT 2 TIMES A MONTH PROBLEM SOLVED. THE ORANGE DOES NOT COMPLETELY GO AWAY BUT THE STIFF, BRITTLE, DRIED TEXTURE COMPLETELY CHANGES BACK TO SOFT AND SHINNY AND IT DOESN'T SEEM TO STRIP MY COLOR. IT SMELLS SO CLEAN AND WONDERFUL. I WENT TO MY LOCAL WALMART TO BUY IT AND THEY NO LONGER CARRY IT I TOTALLY FREAKED OUT THANK GOD I CAN STILL GET IT ONLINE :). I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT IF HAVE USED IT FOR MANY YEARS.
We took a little trip to a mountain retreat center. The bathroom was stocked with several Neutrogena products. This shampoo captured my attention due to its fragrance, ease in pouring and clear shade. For the first time I realized Neutrogena was a brand men could use as well as women. I liked it so much that, when I returned home, I ordered two large bottles. The fact that there were no shipping charges at that time added to my belief I made a good buy. I'll likely order more.
I thought I had dandruff, so I started using a dandruff shampoo (Head & Shoulders). The flakes appeared gone but my hair always looked dirty. Especially near my scalp. It looked piecey and greasy...but it wasn't?? It was dry and heavy. I'm not sure if that makes sense or not, but it definitely didn't look good. I couldn't get any volume. I thought maybe it was because it was a Shampoo plus Conditioner. So I tried H & S Shampoo only---it didn't help with the grossness. Finally, I started researching clarifying shampoos. I looked at many and bought this one. It is excellent. I used to have an expensive brand of aloe gentle clarifying shampoo, but it was discontinued. This Neutrogena shampoo isn't as gentle, but it is great at getting ALL the buildup out of your hair and off your scalp. If you have very damaged hair, I would recommend only using it near your scalp, as it will strip your hair of moisture. I only use it once a week and I make sure to condition afterwards.
I have tried to grow out my hair by using oils and massaging my scalp. This shampoo helps to cleanse the scalp from the oils and any other build up that prevents hair growth. However, this shampoo does dry my hair, I use a hydrating hair mask afterwards.
The first two times my hair felt great...(2 weeks apart). Now I use it once a month, IF THAT. It's making my hair break off, it's stripping all the oil out, drying it and frizzing.. even when I use conditioner afterwards!! Every hair type is different. But this is insane, I'm losing my hair. I use a very small tiny amount. The smell is so potent I want to puke. Yuck! It's up to you.
Does it grow long, luxurious hair? For $99 a bottle I hope it does....but at that price I will buy my less than $10 a bottle product elsewhere!
