Aveeno Active Naturals Nourish + Strengthen Shampoo comes in a tall, narrow bottle: slightly unstable by itself on an open shelf, but fits perfectly together in a small "pocket"-type shelf like that in our shower at home. The bottle is easy to open (one simply presses a finger-shaped depression on the lid top, which raises the spout). The ingredients list features natural substances with easily-pronounceable names, whose function in improving one's hair sounds pretty reasonable. There is no particular scent that I could notice. This shampoo is intended for dry, damaged hair; my hair tends to be oily, but is fine, flyaway & with a tendency to split ends, so it seemed worth trying. The manufacturer claims that one's hair will be noticeably improved after just 3 washes, so I decided to test this. I took "before & after" selfies with my phone's camera to document what effect the shampoo was having after each wash. Based upon those images, plus my & my spouse's observations, I would largely have to agree. I don't know that split ends were prevented; however, my hair did seem softer & silkier, and there seemed to be less hair pulled out when I brushed afterwards, too. I hadn't expected my spouse (who always uses baby shampoo on his own hair) to test this shampoo as well, but he did. He was particularly impressed with how his hair was tangle-free after using this shampoo, even though he wasn't using a conditioner. In fact, he liked this shampoo so much that he has continued to use this, instead of going back to his usual baby shampoo. I normally prefer the convenience of 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioners; however, the performance of this product, together with a container shape which allows both shampoo & conditioner to be right in the shower with me, have convinced me that using separate shampoo & conditioner products can work for me, too -- as long as they're both from the Aveeno Active Naturals line. Highly recommended!
This Aveeno shampoo is really good quality that gets the job done with cleaning my hair well. This suds up very well and it's a nice thick shampoo with some body. This is more of a tannish cream color and it smells nice. I like that all Aveeno products don't have an overly strong scent and smell nice at the same time. I find this Aveeno Active Naturals Nourish does a fairly good job at making my hair less oily. I have the kind of hair that can get oily pretty fast unfortunately. This does not seem to make my hair less frizzy but it doesn't claim to either. In my opinion I don't see this strengthining my hair at all as it claims. I have the same amount of breakage as I would with any other shampoo. I have yet to find a shampoo that actually makes my hair stronger. I like this tall skinny bottle to fit nice in my shower without taking up so much space. All around good quality shampoo. Aveeno seems like a nice brand in my opinion with their shampoo and body wash. These are my honest thoughts for testing out this Aveeno Active Naturals shampoo.
I chose this product for the Spark Reviewer Program. There are sooo many shampoos out there. Which one do you choose. The first thing I noticed was this is inexpensively priced on the Walmart Website. I have never used Aveeno products but thought I would give it a try. The packaging is colorful. The package is easy to hold onto. I like the fragrance of this shampoo. Its not too strong and yet you can still smell a little bit after usage. Does what most other shampoos do I guess and that is cleans real well. My hair felt clean and fresh after using the Aveeno Nourish and Strength Shampoo. I didn't know it but Aveeno is a brand of the Johnson and Johnson Company which I am very familiar with. Purchase many of there products. This shampoo has a nice consistency. Its not too runny and not to thick. Aveeno recommends that you use this product with there Aveeno Nourish and Strengthen Conditioner. Aveeno states that this shampoo helps fortify fragile hair. Also, targets the weakest parts of hair to help repair over 90% of damage and helps reduce breakage. Of all the shampoos out there its tough to choose. Yet, I like this brand, the fragrance, how it cleans my hair and the fact that it can repair damaged hair. Definitely recommend as a buy. Merry Christmas.
Aveeno Nourish & Strengthen Shampoo claims that it is “proven to nourish dry, damaged hair” and “repairs and fortifies to help prevent breakage.” It is also “gentle on color treated hair.” They also claim “Targets the weakest parts of hair to help repair over 90% of damage and reduce breakage.” It comes in a 10.5 ounce bottle. It is gentle enough to use every day without the damage of other shampoos. It has a pleasant smell. It is almost “pearlescent” in color, so it's kind of pretty to look at before your put it in your hair. A few of the ingredients are: wheat gluten, wheat germ oil, fruit oil, glycerin, and may contain citric acid. There are other ingredients as well, but I wanted to highlight these, because they are natural and not chemical. I also like the fact that the bottle itself is up to 20% recycled material. The push to open cap is easy enough to open, but it cannot open on its own. When I received this, the cap was not tightly screwed on and it leaked a bit into the packaging, however, I believe that was due to whomever packaged the bottle and not due to a defective or overly easy to open cap. Aveeno is a trusted brand. I have used Aveeno's shampoo in the past and I really like it. It leaves my hair soft and manageable and my hair professional has said that my hair is in great condition. With that being said, I guess Aveeno's claims are true. I would highly recommend this shampoo.
This strengthening shampoo is not only great priced, but well worth the value. My hair is very thin and brittle. However, after using this shampoo for just a couple of weeks, I have noticed a big difference in the strength. Less hair falls out on the daily versus what it had before with other shampoos. The smell is also nice, and lasts all day. I do wash my hair daily because of the texture. My head naturally produces more oil than a typical head of hair. However, this shampoo seemed to of improved that as well, because if I do miss a day without washing my hair, it's not oily as it typically is after skipping a day of washing. I highly recommend this product.
Aveeno Active Naturals Nourish + Strengthen Shampoo, 10.5 Oz ........This shampoo seems to be very concentrated. I am using about the size of a dime and getting tons of lather. Nice smell...Absolutely love this shampoo, Don't even feel like I need conditioner after using it. Leaves my hair smooth and soft..........Moisturises and tame the frizz........A little goes a long way......it's the best shampoo, hands down.......Great smell. Hydrates dry hair.........I love this shampoo as it has seemingly less harmful ingredients than other commercial brands and the scent is good - not too strong yet lingers throughout the day.........The consistency of the shampoo is rather thick but lathers up with a few drops of water on the palm so I don't have to use a lot of shampoo each time. ... Cleans Good And Left The Hair Shiny...........It is a must try.........You will not regret it......
When I received the bottle of Aveeno Active Naturals Nourish Plus Strengthen Shampoo, 10.5 Oz, I opened the bottle to smell it and to feel the texture, the scent is not over baring it is on the mild side which I prefer. The texture was very silky. So when I washed my hair with it I was very pleased. I loved how it lathered it did not take a lot to get a good rich lather. When you rinse it out it rinses out fairly easy not like some shampoos. After I towel dried my hair I did not have a lot of tangles like I normally do, so that was pretty great. Then after my hair was dry it felt soft and silky. So if you want to try a good shampoo give this a try. Aveeno makes excellent products.
I have very thin fine hair so I've been trying to find a shampoo that would be beneficial for it. Think I finally found it. Not good at taking "selfies" so I can only say it really has changed the look & feel of my hair in just a few days. Nothing is going to making it look thicker but it sure does feel a lot stronger. Thanks, Aveeno, I think I have a winner.
I love Aveeno products so I was excited to try and then review the Active Naturals Nourish + Strengthen Shampoo. I have used this shampoo for the past two weeks. I love the clean smell - it isn't too overwhelming. I only wash my hair every other day, yet it still feels dry and brittle at times (especially during the dry winter months). This shampoo actually leaves my hair feeling soft and manageable. I use the matching conditioner with the shampoo. The shampoo lathers up nicely and rinses out really well. My hair feels clean afterwards with no feeling of residue. I definitely recommend this product.
Aveeno Active Naturals Nourish + Strengthen Shampoo The shampoo has a creamy color versus the clear. It lathers up very easily with only a little amount. It rinses out quickly leaving your hair squeaky clean. By itself though, it does not make my hair feel like I could brush it without the conditioner. The first night I used the shampoo, I thought it had a really strong perfume smell, which I'm not fond of. The conditioner doesn't seem as strong though. I am not sure if the conditioner evens out the strength of the scent in the shampoo or I'm just getting more used to the smell, but it seems more pleasant now.
