I get tons of compliments on my hair and everyone is always surprised when I tell them I did it myself. I do leave it on the roots for the extra time because I am really getting gray and it always looks beautiful. I choose to do just 6 thick highlights on the top and 2 underneath. Photo is not great, but you get the idea.

Used 7.0, 7.1 8.0 and 8.1 I was very nervous the first time I used it because what if I ruined my hair and I would have to go to a hairdresser to get it fixed but I was completely surprised with my results I've been using these products for several years now and a very between colors depending on winter or summer and I absolutely love it I've gotten a little better at trying to figure out how to weave the highlights through But I'm super happy with this. I don't spend a fortune on my hair I can do it in the privacy of my own home and I just love it.
TIPS FOR YOU!! I've left a glowing review of this product before (8.0 and 8.2) and have been using it for over a year now. I have had sooo many compliments on my hair since I began using this product. I decided to begin coloring my hair because my natural hair color was beginning to turn drab with too many grays. My natural hair color is dark strawberry blonde and I wanted to find a color close to the original. I have learned things about this product along the way with trial and error and can give some tips. I use almost all of the color on my roots, with hardly any left for the 5 min. overall application at the end. I don't even leave it on for 5 min. If you leave it on too long, the lightest blondes will turn a grayish tint. Before I apply my highlights the next day, I get my hair a little wet and towel-dry. I comb and separate with my fingers the strands I plan on highlighting, which saves time. I start a timer for 10 min before I begin and just use my gloved fingertips to apply color evenly to those strands. When the timer goes off, I stop. I don't add any more, otherwise they will be too light. I want it to look natural. Hope this helps! Best of luck, ladies!
I love Couleur Experte. I colored my hair yesterday (using 8.0 Toasted Coconut) and this is the result. My "natural" hair is a light to medium brown but I am more than 50% gray. I love the color. My hair feels good. The next time I color, it will be late fall and I'll go to a light brown. It's versatile and easy to use.

I have never attempted to color my hair myself before and I couldn't be happier with the results. I was super paranoid but figured I could wear a hat all winter if I botched the job. The instructions were idiot proof and I was grateful for the online videos I watched as well. I think the end result was just what I wanted-grays covered and multi-dimensional color that looks like my hair but better. It evened out my weird summer highlights and left my hair feeling smooth and well conditioned. I might leave both steps on a bit longer next time now that I have survived my first attempt. Honestly this was the pick me up I needed.
I did a strand test which was fine, then did 10 mins on roots and 5 more after slathering the rest of my head. My base color was a warm blonde (dyed) with bleached highlights which was a tad brassy. I used the 8.2 iced meringue. The photos are before and after..
So you have no cap. Mistake 1. And the finger comb ..epic fail..the highlight solution not near enough to highlight where I wanted it and it bled on other parts of my hair so now I horizontal lines. Wearing a hat to work And going to my stylist who will probably make me a blonde for the next 13 weeks. Never will use this again. And I adore L'Oréal products. This one. Not so much. A cap please or some Fouls and a primer of how to do it so that it looks as good as all other L'Oréal products do. I love you guys but YUCK!
The all over hair color did nothing and then when I went to do the highlights there was barely any product to have any effect on my hair whatsoever. I am not sure if you're advertising was for the short haired girl on the box but but you really should be more specific about what the two swipe highlights will cover for the actual average person not a hair model.
