I have bought so many make up wipes, removers, toners, waterproof make up washes, but nothing has taken my make up off the way this has! It feels thick initially, but after I rubbed it all over with water and wiped it off, my skin did not feel greasy and had no oil film. It takes off full coverage makeup and waterproof mascara! I will definitely be buying this time and time again!
I started using this cleanser approximately 4 weeks ago and have had good results with it. Because my face is sensitive to any type of cleanser I only use this every other night. I apply this gel, work it in and then take a warm cloth and wipe, this removes all my makeup..even my mascara. After I am done I apply E.L.F nourishing night cream, the 2 work well together.
I am really happy with this! I have very fair very sensitive skin so a lot of cleaners even ones for sensitive skin end up irritating my skin. This one left my skin feeling smooth and hydrated with a slight tingling sensation that comes along with some cleansers. You put on a thin layer of the cleanser and then activate it by rubbing it with warm water. Now some people have said it takes a while to rinse off which I do agree BUT it's not a bad factor. This is because the gel cleaner has more of a Vaseline jelly type consistency, which is pretty thick. But If you have dry skin like mine it actually feels very very good on the skin with how thick it is. I actually let this sit for a minute or two before I wash it off! So for those of you who want to try a very different type of cleanser I would love this a try! Especially if you have sensitive dry skin!
I LOVE this! After my go-to cleanser was discontinued two years ago, I've had a horrible time finding a replacement for my super oily + super dry face + super sensitive face. I tried tons of products but it was always the same: If I used it in the morning, it took a while for my skin to calm down but if I used it at night, by the time morning rolled around all the loveliness was gone. And that was IF I was lucky enough to find one that didn't dry me out completely or make me into an oily mess. This is exactly what I needed. I can use it morning, night, or both and my face loves it. Because of the winter temps right now (-20C), I need to add the tiniest touch of moisturizer to my extra dry spots but in the autumn I was fine without any extra moisture. Some people complain about it being hard to wash off, but it's really not -- it just makes you realize there are certain areas of your face you may not be rinsing as well as you thought (bridge of my nose, personally).
I have combination skin, and tend to avoid products labelled "hydrating" as they often make me breakout. I decided to give this cleanser a try, as I get very dry skin at the changes of the season and a gel cleanser seemed a better alternative to cream cleanser options. After two weeks, I still really like this cleanser! It leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth, but not oily or greasy and I have had no problem with breakouts. It removes most of my makeup, but I still need to use a little eye makeup remover for my mascara, it doesn't quite get it all off. I will say that it doesn't really lather. I tried really hard to work it into a lather as directed, and the best I got was a whitish cast to the product before rinsing. I expected it to foam based on the directions. I don't really mind, I know foaming agents are an additive to soap and not necessary, it just worked differently than I anticipated.
The first time I used this I wasn't sure if it was taking my makeup off completely. So I used my usual make up remover afterward. Turns out I didn't have a spot of makeup left on my cotton pad. It was awesome! Another thing I noticed on the first try was that it seemed like my face was greasy as I was rinsing it off. That wasn't the case either. My skin was just that soft. Pretty much as soon as warm water hits it the mask melts away clean. I use it sparingly every time I take my makeup off, as it doesn't take much of the product. I'm an everyday makeup wearer and I've had this container for over a month and still going. I have tossed away all of my old makeup and skin care products and replaced with E.L.F. I've never had a problem getting foundation, mascara or long-wear lipstick off with this.
I love love love this gel melt cleanser...it removes every bit of my makeup, even waterproof mascara without drying out my skin or leaving any makeup residue behind. If anyone has used the higher end product (I won't mention names) you should give this one a try. I swear once you use it you will never waste your money on the high end one again. I like ELF's much better, it doesn't irritate my skin or cause breakouts, it leaves your skin feeling moisturized and nourished, it is a definite fav ;o)
Iam 62 yrs old, redhead, dry skin. I have used many cleansers to find what works best for my skin... Foaming-too harsh, but good cleansing, days out my skin. Cream-ok, but not a very good clean feel, better moisture. Moisturizing Gel-perfect! Very nice clean feel and my skin is perfectly moisturised. I have used similar products by Strivectin at a much higher $$$. This by far is equal in quality and a HUGE price saving.
I use this product as a first step in my evening cleansing routine. I find it does exactly what it claims. It just melts make up right off... Including hard to remove liquid lip colours and high pigment shadows. This product does not irritate my eyes like some other cleansers tend to. I have already repurchased and plan to again. Love this cleanser.
I bought this around six weeks ago. I originally wanted to try an oil cleaner for makeup removal but opted for this first since I am a fan of e.l.f products. It's..... ok. It's very good at removing makeup, but I wouldn't so much refer to it as a “cleaner”. I definitely have to use another product to thoroughly cleanse my face. Which is kind of a bummer since this claims to do that and costs ten bucks. If you are looking for a product to melt makeup off, this is for you. If you're looking for something to thoroughly cleanse your skin, not so much in my opinion.
