This is a great enclosure for the money. IT IS basically escape proof. IF you want to use a pad-lock to secure it so children cant open the enclosure you can. However there are tabs at the back that snap in the grooves of the screen to lock it in place, with respect to the reptile escaping. A human could still open it. The guy whining that it didn't come with a padlock must be intellectually challenged, because you don't need a pad lock to keep a python from escaping. If the rear locking clips are not secure enough for you, you can use a large nail, or a multitude of clips, or even a twist tie. The only reason you would need a lock is if you need to keep people from opening the enclosure. Yes snakes are escape artists, but lets be reasonable here.
The pictures of how the tank looks include a specific picture with the lock on. Nowhere in the description does it say LOCK NOT INCLUDED though it says 'lockable' several times. I get the tank and it says LOCK NOT INCLUDED right on the box. I have a young python. Don't wanna put him in with any chance of escape. The description and pictures are misleading and now I can't put him in the tank until tomorrow when hopefully I can find a lock that fits the rather small 'lockable' holes. I'm disappointed with my first purchase from here.
