I have 5 wild deer mouse that I found abandoned as babies in my basement. I've had them happy living in a big glass aquarium for over a year now. I purchased the Wild Harvest Metal Activity Wheel thinking it was too big for the tiny mice but they would just climb it like a jungle gym. Turns out all 5 got inside and ran together, non stop, all day. They run in it every single day for hours for a year now. I have 2 so I can wash one and switch them out. I put plumbers tephlon tape on the axle to keep from squeeking. I want to get more but I can't find them in stores. I've looked at other metal wheels but none as as stable or high quality. Thanks Five Harvest.
The hamster wheel is a nice size, perfect for the hamster, not too small ( so the spine wouldn't curve backward) and not too big.
Pets like it. A little noisy but not bad for the price.
I just got a baby Syrian Hamster and he loves it. It was relay noisy and I could hear it from down stairs if the door was open, but I fixed that by putting some olive oil on it. It's not perfectly quiet, but I don't sleep in the same room so it does not bother me.

This is a horrible wheel! There are two metal prongs that poke out that don't have bumpers on them . When the hamster goes around, the prongs hit his back. My hamster has two sore spots on his back, right where the prongs hit him. This happened in just one night. The wheel is big enough for him.
I wish someone would have done a review about this item ! I would have read it and not bought it ! It was rusty with peeling paint and warped the wheel rubbed against the frame on one side ! : (
Guinea pigs have a fragile spine and all wheels and balls can seriously injure your pet. Their spine is not structures to bend in the necessary position to run in these. It can literally break your cavies' back!! Should be fine for other small animals, as far as I know.
These wheels cause the hamsters to have bumblefoot! Broken & swollen toes bad enough that the poor ham can't even eat or groom normally. All this product is good for is examples of exactly what to avoid!! (Silent Spinner is MUCH heaven for both ham & hamster parents...) Or just get a wheel with NO rungs or mesh. One solid plastic wheel is GREAT!
