one of the glass shades was broken. Packaging is barely adequate to protect contents. Also, one of the light bulbs was defective. Picky, yes, but still necessitates a trip back across town, and explaining to an associate (who could care less) why I didn't return the whole package instead of asking for replacements for broken/defective parts. The fan, once installed, is very quiet, and moves air sufficiently for a 16 x 24 room. TIP: assemble the fan, motor, blades, lights and all completely before lifting and hanging in the bracket. MUCH easier than fiddling with all the tiny screws over your head while standing on a step stool and juggling a screwdriver and all the screws. I bought two, the first one took 45 minutes from open box to power on. The second (following the above tip) took less than 30 minutes.
The fan is a great value for the money. It shipped very quickly and was easy to install. My only complaint is that it is a little wobbly at high speed, and the balancing process is way too complicated to attempt. The fan cools well enough at medium speed, so this has not been too much of an issue.
It's a good product. The assembly is not very simple, but not very complicated. One of the light covers was broken when I got the fan home.
I have just bought 2 of your model 17808 52" fans with 4 light attachments. One fan had 1 screw to attach blades to the fan 0 screws to attack blades to brackets. The other one had o lights for fan and 12 screws rather than 15 to attach blades to brackets.There was o screws to attach blade assembly to fan motor. Thank God for a Westlake Hardware store in town,so as I could buy the missing parts for the fan.I've traded at Wal-Mart for years but I guess from now own I'll have to open anything I purchase and check to see if everything is in the box.
