We tried other products with no luck. As soon as we used the crystals it cleared up the clog with just one use. I would totally buy this product again.
This works great on slow and stopped drains. This will work on slow drains when all others have failed. When you pour it in the drain and add a cup of water, it causes a caustic reaction that causes a thick vapor to raise from your drain. It is very strong acidic smell and you should leave the room while it works it's magic. I've never had to use more than two doses to entirely clear a slow drain or blockage.
We have been searching for Drano Crystals for a few months and haven't been able to find it anywhere. It was a complete fluke I searched for it at Walmart online. So glad I found it. It really opens up the drains.
This product works far better than any liquid drain cleaner that I have ever used in 20 years of home ownership. It is hard to find, but if you see it, buy it! One can lasts for literally dozens of uses (only one tablespoon per use), whereas other liquid products last only a maximum of five uses. Beware that fumes can be very noxious - use it, let it work, and leave the room if you have poor ventilation. Directions state clearly that if it does not work after two uses, then "call a pumber." While many DIY'ers will not need to call a plumber, what that ultimately means is that, if after two unsuccessful attempts, your problem is not going to be solved by an over the counter product - you will likely need to take a different course of action (example of common problems not solved by ANY drain cleaner: remove trap to clean manually, overflow hole in sink is clogged, etc.).
This good ole trusty product always works for me. I use in a maintenance routine, small quantity every three months, with good results.
it keeps the drain open and flowing.
Short of the full strength acids plumbers buy at supply stores, this is the best way to open and clear a drain. Every liquid I've used has done nothing but waste my time and money. This actually works.
Received product from Walmart, but the metal can was dented in several area's. I opened the top of the container and Crystals were right underneath the plastic cap. I dumped these crystals out to get to the seal. I removed this seal to pour the prescribed amount into my slow running drain. I replaced the cap for storage purposes but the container, made of steel was dented pretty much, but the seams were still intact. I would have given this review 5 stars except for the damage to the can was more than I expected.
Our bathroom shower drain, drains very slowly. I bought a can hoping to help the slow running drain. I was very disappointed that it did not help the drain very much after 2 applications. I will continue to use it at least monthly hoping it will, with time, make the drain run more freely. I hate to use it too often as we are on a septic system.
Crystal Drano was amazing. It unclogged EVERYTHING... even a half roll of paper towels that a toddler once flushed down the toilet. This? It doesn't even unclog a little bit of toilet paper. I'm so completely disappointed that they changed the formula so drastically. No wonder it's no longer called Crystal Drano.
