I purchased this trailer due to the sturdy plastic for seating. My daughter is delayed and has low muscle tone so she was unable to sit comfortably in the other trailers which just use the mesh seating (those always caused her to slouch and then she couldn't push herself upright in the seat and she couldn't reach the bar for support#. But this trailer is awesome for her! She never wants to get out! I've had my son who is almost 5 and weighs 50 pounds and my daughter who is almost 3 and weighs 40 pounds in at the same time and they rode comfortably. Both my kids are tall for their age but they will be able to fit in nicely for some time. As with the other review, I agree with the directions. They were hard to follow and one of the photos they use shows a different hook up than the one I had so it took me a while of second guessing before I figured I had the trailer connected correctly. The other thing is that the front wheel is stationary so its hard to use as a stroller as I will need to lift the front wheel to make my turns. But its a great buy and I will still use it as a stroller for when we travel to the zoo or to see Thomas the Train since there is so much room to store stuff #especially if only 1 child sits in it) or if both children get tired then they can sit in it and relax. If you want sturdy and supportive, then this is a great one to consider.
I wanted a safe strong Trailer for my grandaughter...I like the hard bottom and side just incase something flys offen a car or truck and it has a chance to bounce off. Also the seat is very suportive for her and it has alot of space inside. Good choice for the money, very ecanomical and I feel it's safer and more suportive, than those other soft shell bicycle trailers. A Very Happy Grama
I have chosen to for go getting a car and only travel by bike (Schwinn 700 c hybrid) so I bought this for my now 5 (60lbs) and 3 (30 lbs) year olds to ride in. I have had many other brands and disliked the mesh bottoms b/c during rainy season my little ones butts would get wet so when i first saw this i was over the moon. I first purchased this over two years ago and the ride was smooth as butter like i didn't have anything behind me, I loved it... yes the inside is a little smaller than the instep trailers but my little ones haven't had any issue sharing the space, Also there is mesh separating them from anything I put in the back (bonus b/c my little girl had a habit of getting my purse and destroying my make-up). Over about 3 months of nearly daily use the back rest started to fray and the one side fell, but I was able to fix it with some zip ties. Also over the coarse of year weak spots in the rims cropped up allowing a bubble to push from the tube and deformed the original rims; I replaced them with an old set of instep rims b/c Little Tykes dose not offer replacement parts. However all in all I loved this trailer and that's why I'm back today purchasing a new one when I woke up to discover it and my bike had been stolen out of my garage over the night.
I like the trailer for my 2yr and 1yr old boys. It was difficult to put together... directions were not great.... but once my husband got it together it was great. Taught me how out of shape I was! Like the fact that it can also be a "stroller" haven't used it that way yet though! Like that it has a safety flag.... most that I have seen do NOT have this!
I purchased this cruiser because of its hard bottom. That's especially important because I don't want to worry about things poking through mesh and hurting my children. I have a 2yr old & a 7 month old and i will be using this as both a trailer & jogger. I ordered on Tuesday & received it on Thursday. I will update in a month on how it's holding up....stay tuned =)
Overall a good product.... Very sturdy packs 80 lbs of kids no problem. We have a 3 almost 4yr old that is 50lbs and a 16 month old that is 33lbs. Oldest is this size of a 5-6 yr old so he won't be able to be in it much longer. Is perfect for one big kid or 2 smaller. Kind of cramped for the youngest with big bro in there. Downsides are-- instructions are poor, location of front wheel when in stored position is fairly low to ground,we removed it since we are using it for a trailer only. The clamp is kind of a pain to put on bike--need to screw it almost all the way out to put on. Handle for stroller part would be nice if it locked when it's in the down position. This product works for what we need it too, can't beat $170. Guess if you want everything and are using a trailer (avid biker) I would spend the 300-500 and get a nice quality trailer but if your looking for a reasonably priced one that's sturdy this is a good one.
It works wonderfully as a bike trailer so far. I have twin 2 1/2 year olds and they fit very comfortably inside. They absolutely love it. Very smooth ride and very easy to assemble and attach to bike. It took me about a half hour. When using it as a stroller it is a little difficult to turn and tends to vear to the left but it may be something I can adjust, I just havent really looked into it yet. Overall we are happy with the purchase.
