I got this set from the company event, the whole set is so cute. It goes well with my son's fridge toy set. It is very colorful. Very nicely made and the design is very into details. I'm very impressed. I also like the packaging. They display the accessories very well. I believe it is a great gift set as well. My son plays with them for hours, he looks that he enjoys it a lot. Bought these to go in a Little Tikes shopping cart for my one year old grandson. They are sturdy painted wooden pieces. Realistic labels. He loves them.

This is so realistic. My grandkids love this type of play food. It is sturdy and will last a very long time. If you have little ones that like to throw things, you may want to stick with plastic food. This is heavy, good quality food items. We love it!! Worth paying a few more bucks.
My 2 year old girl loves to use the play food in this set – even though the items are essentially packaged pieces of food. She takes the package of bologna or the box of waffles, and places them on plates and serves them to her stuffed animals. The vintage look of the food is great – unexpectedly detailed; I also love the nostalgic feel it has. The wood is high quality as well. Overall, this set of play food looks great in my little girl's play kitchen, but as she gets older and wants to actually make a pretend-sandwich or eat pretend-waffles – she's going to want to play with the actual pretend-food-items. My 20-months and 5-years old kids both love it, so do their friends. They happily pretend to enjoy the ice cream and yogurt. Melissa and Doug toys are well known for their quality wooden toys, so does this set. The orange juice and milk bottles look very realistic, followed by the cheese, butter, ice cream and yogurt. As other reviewers mentioned, these are a little heavy, but I think it is the trade-off we need to make when choosing between plastic vs wooden toys. Overall, I am happy with this product, and I received it at a discounted price in return for my unbiased review.

Wooden. Print only on one side and the back is painted solid color ! Over priced. It should last a while being wood. I copied the print design on a color printer, cut out and mod podge glued to the back side. Glad I got set on sale. Disappointed print was only on one side.
I'm a fan of Melissa and Doug quality, and this product certainly meets the bar. Unfortunately I picked this item a little too quickly, and didn't imagine what the kids could do with these items in their already large play restaurant. I thought this would make a great addition to that pretend play, but really - what can you do with a large BOX of frozen veggies, or a PACK of bologna? You can't really serve that to a pretend customer (not realistically), or even pretend cook the ingredients. So this is a cool concept to add to a pretend kitchen or restaurant, but I think you can find better options to allow for a more realistic play. Love the quality of this set however these products are quite heavy! My granddaughter enjoys them, and easy to hold. One fell off her kitchen set and they were very heavy so that is my only concern but will not prevent me from buying Melissa and Doug as I love their products!
