This item was a Christmas present to a friend. I like the color's. They were true to the color as pictured. I thought they looked expensive. I didn't like the bubble's in the black paint on the back of the plates. Other than that I was very satisfied with the dinnerware set. They have the appearance of an expensive set of dinnerware. I would highly recommend this set of dinnerware to a friend.
When I got my dishes home, I was surprised to see how nice they were. My husband said we should use them, but I bought them for our guest house. They look very durable and went through the dishwasher fine. I was hoping the color was going to be blue-green, but they are more on the blue side... which is fine. I would recommend this product if you're looking for great looking dishes at a low, low price.
I purchased a set recently and I really like it. The cups and bowls are nice and big. They are durable, attractive, and you can't get a better deal! Also, they weren't available in store but the ship to store deal worked out really well. I will be buying another set soon.
I recieved my dinnerware set from my parents for Christmas after placing them on a wishlist. I saw them while browsing this site one day, and just had to have them for my new home. They are just as beautiful as I had hoped they would be. The only negative aspect is that the outside finish is a dull black color with little bubble-like bumps, where as the picture on the box makes it look as though there is a blue tint to the outside finish, which there is not. This doesn't bother me at all, but some people may not like it. The face color is absolutely gorgeous though, and I have already recieved lots of compliments on them. I will probably invest in another set down the road so that I will have 8 place settings instead of 4 though, for when I have people over for dinner.
Very nice and solid dishware with decent sized coffee cups instead of the undersized ones you get with some sets. The items were packed very securely and arrived undamaged.
Purchased this set as a wedding gift for a young couple--they absolutely loved it. Told me they replaced what they were using with the set immediately. It's very artistic and contemporary looking and arrived all intact!
To preface this, I have been shopping for a not-too-pricey stoneware set for awhile to replace a set I love that I've had for 27 years but that is finally chipping and cracking. So that set is a tough act to follow. The set does look greener than it does in the picture. I really am partial to blue dishes for some reason, but I was aware that the color probably would be different. So is it what I wanted? Not really. Did I expect them to not be as blue as I'd hoped? Yes. That's why I gave "Meets Expectations" a 3. "Appearance" rated a 4 - except for the color not being as blue, they look good and as depicted. Also, some people loved the huge bowls, some people hated them. I wasn't sure how big they would be, but they are big. You can't angle them in the dishwasher; just expect you have to lay them just about flat in the dishwasher, so they take up a lot of room. The plates - the curve on them is bigger than I expected, so I can't fit all 8 of them in my dishwasher, either. The dish on the back (outside) leans in to the other plates, and the one that would be on the inside doesn't fit against the center spray column. So can only fit in 6 plates where I used to be able to fit in all 8. So for the bowls' size and plates' shape, that's why I rated "Features" a 3. The salad plates are bigger than my old ones, but a nice size. I rarely use the mugs, but they'll be nice for hot chocolate, and if I didn't have my favorite (huge) coffee mug already, I'd probably love these for my morning coffee. So - I wanted blue stoneware that could be used in the microwave and dishwasher, that had a slight lip (not flat), no pattern in the middle, cost less than $150/$200, and that wouldn't chip or scratch right away. I've been looking for a couple of years and basically gave up on meeting all my criteria. So overall: --they are kind of bluish, but more green; --the plates have a bigger lip (curve) than I wanted, so not fitting well in the dishwasher; --so far so good in the microwave and dishwasher, but other reviews I've read (can't remember if this brand specifically), started cracking when microwaved, so only time will tell; --I can't complain about the cost (got 2 sets serving 8 for $80). So if they do start falling apart after a year of microwaving and dishwashing, I'll be OK with that. That's why I can't rate "Durability".
I really love these dishes. They are a great size; especailly the bowls which are nice and big. You can fit a lot in them. They also look fantastic. All the Walmarts in our area only sell the ugly green version of these dishes, but the blue is so much nicer looking! So far they have been great, but I haven't had them long enough to give them a really good durability test.
We are so pleased with these dishes. The only downside is the outside scratches easily in the dishwasher. Place bowls apart from the rest of the dishes. Otherwise, they are a great value and very attractive.
Ordered the set and had them delivered. Was quick delivery. The set is a nice set. Plates are large. Saucers can be used as a small plate for those like me that dont need a big plate. The cups are perfect size and easy to hold if your a big coffee drinker as I am. The bowls is where I am dissappointed. They are large and hold alot, but, they are hard to hold. No real place or way to hold especially when hand washing. Also, they dont handle temperatures well. Havent used them a week and already have a crack from temperature variation. Havent called customer service yet. Dont have the box anymore so guess I'm gonna be stuck with three bowls. For the price I would suggest a different set.
