we had a difficult time finding a gate for the size we needed. this gate is easy to install, and is sturdy. the only downside is it takes a little cordiantion to close. I have figured it out without a problem, but my husband is still learning. I like that it swings open, and when open it is pretty compact against the wall. We use it for our dog, but I would have been fine with it when my kids were little. ( we never had a gate on this wall, because we did not live in this house then ). we use it almost all the way extended, and are having good results.
I couldn't be happier with this gate. We have had it about a year and it has lasted thought our daycare and pets wonderfully. I would recomend this to anyone with an over sized door way. We looked every where and this was the best priced for our door way. Would buy again.... but I haven't needed to!
I have had this for about a month and it's very sturdy! It is definitely doing its job at keeping kids the children safe!
Bought this gate for a large opening and has been wonderful so far. Was easy to set up (15-20min) and has nice features as well (swing gate option and can be removed from hinge for parties, etc...). Only wish they made a smaller version for the standard door openings versus the other types of gates.
I needed to have an extra wide gate to help keep my Maltese in our family room/kitchen when we are at work. The gate slides easily and stays in place. I actually didn't have it permanently installed because I want to remove it easily (and my dog doesn't go near the gate any way). The gate stands up well against the wall. Very satisifed with my purchase!
we bought out 1st gate 4 years ago along with a handsfree one. this gate proved to work so well from the start! now we have 4 of these in our home. it works excellent for stair ways, big open doorways, and hallways. we love this gate. it also works great to contain our 2 dogs in the kitchen area. The one we bought 4 yrs ago is still up and running and has survived moving to a new house. The hands free one didn't do so well and it was twice the price! This one is very easy to put up and my 4 year old can't go over it or open it. My 2 year old too. I had a neighbor kid over once who was 7 years old and he couldn't open it either or go over it. Definitely a great deal. our gate is in excellent condition even after all these years. as a matter of fact i just bought one more for the main hallway which is pretty wide. it really helps keep the little ones safe. we are really happy with this product.
I used this gate in a home that had normal entry ways, but thought some day we might live in a house that had larger ones, so I went with this gate. It is a very sturdy strong gate and it was easy to hook up permanently. The only bad thing about it is that it is very hard to pull out and stretch it to where you want it to be if you NEED it to be longer. I'm not sure if it needs some sort of lubricant or what, but that was the only thing I found to be "wrong" with it.
It works great to contain my 10 month old twins. It's one of the few gates I found that will fit the wide doorway I have between my living room and dining room. The only problem I have with this gate is that it's difficult to re-latch, especially for my 5 and 6 year old children who often need to get through the doorway.
This gate is perfect for our needs. Its adjustable and easy to open and close. I have looked long and hard to find a gate that would fit a large opening and i finally found one. It will fit an opening up to 62in and its also tall enough that the kids cant climb over it. The price is affordable too. I wish i had bought this gate years ago.
My husband set this gate up and is handy with tools, so it was easy for him. It's wide enough to fit the opening where we needed it and plenty tall enough to block our small chihuahua puppy. Love that it swings both ways so our kids can easily walk through. We don't leave it latched because the latch is too hard for them to push, although my husband and I can do it. We just extend it out farther than the wall and push it up against the wall. Works very well for our purpose of keeping the puppy contained and a great price for the extra wide gate. (we have hope she'll eventually be potty trained, and we'll no longer need the gate.)
