It's awesome, period.
Better than three times the price. Replaced a $70 Krups. Works better than the Krups. Brings a liter to boil in three minutes. The splash of color is delightful. Very good ergonomics.

Our last one worked over five years
I had another kettle that at the time of purchase was just about the right price. One of my co-workers dropped it and it cracked. When we went to replace it, it was not easily available, and outrageously priced (more than twice what I paid for the T-Fal). In addition, it developed problems after about a year. and would cycle off and on while it was heating. It kept going off and on, with a clicking overload switch. Quick when new (but nowhere near as quick as this T-Fal) it eventually would take took forever (ten minutes?) to heat up the water. There is a history on the Web of the same problem with other owners of the "B" tea kettle. Overpriced junk. This T-Fal on the other hand is FAST, priced right, and the heater element is sealed. No problems with early shutoff yet. I'm a happy camper. It takes up more space than my previous kettle, and it looks like it came from Disneyland's ToonTown (funny shape) but it's shorter in height which makes it easier to fill. My water is FULL of scale and minerals, so it's good to have the built in scale filter. For the life of me, I don't know why Wal-Mart does not stock this in the retail stores. There's not anything on the shelves that compares. Buy it, and be happy.
I tried 3 different products. I am very picky with what I need. Biggest problem was milk/water splitting out as soon as it boils up. Auto off was not helping either. I was using this to make Indian tea. This items works perfect. I put the knob on low or medium and it worked fine and as I needed. If u buy this do not put it on high. This is very good product.
I bought this kettle to replace my old one. After reading lots of reviews, and initially wanting a stainless kettle, I settled on this one. And so far, I could not be happier. It brews quickly and efficiently, and I find its size perfect. The only downside to it is the fact that it's not the most attractive of kettles but its performance more than makes up for that. All in all, a great purchase.
This thing really is incredible. It heats far faster than a microwave. There is something so wholesome about hearing water boil in a kettle, too. My room mate had one of these and we used it constantly and when she moved out I was bereft! I missed it more than I missed her! It didn't take a week before I was ordering this one from Walmart. Some really good points as opposed to a tea kettle on the stove: It boils water SUPER fast. It has an automatic shut off. You don't need a hot pad, as it has a hard plastic handle that does not heat up. Because it boils up to a liter REALLY FAST you can top off soups or whatever needs water added to it on the stove without messing up the temperature of your soup. Can you tell I love this thing? I HIGHLY reccomend it to anyone who has been using an old fashioned kettle, or a microwave, to boil water for coffee, tea, instant soups, ramen noodles, etc;. It's a super well designed gizmo and quite good looking, too.
It was small that i expected but it is good for two persons family.
