This is the 2nd exact iron I've purchased. The 1st lasted over 4 yrs with very few problems. If I filled up the water reservoir even half way up, it would leak, so I only filled in a small amount, meaning I had to refill it often. Then, began to leak, and seemed to be overheating. I am a quilter, so I need a reliable iron to use almost daily. This one is just heavy enough to work with quilting fabrics, but not so heavy as to be hard for me to use. I love the sole plate, which didn't get any scratches after over 4 yrs of use. My only negative is that water needed to be refilled frequently if using the steam function. So far, the newest iron doesn't seem to have that problem. By far, the best iron I've ever purchased.
Best Iron I've ever had! Got tired of buying cheapie break down clogging irons where the steam stops coming out after a year!!! Well, this one has the feature allowing you to empty the grains of minerals that collect over time. I empty it once a week and sure enough water deposits collect and I empty them out. Haven't seen this in other irons. The result is I've had this iron about two years now, use it several times daily, steam still comes out strong, unlike the other irons I've owned over my lifetime. Plus, it glides just as well as it did the day I purchased it!! Finally, a quality product in a typically "throw away" industry- rare find. I haven't had the water reservoir pop off as others posting here have. Not sure what that is all about but I'm just thrilled to have purchased this iron. Also looks great, doesn't look low quality; has fallen many times and doesn't break.......again, finally a quality product! Thank you T-fal. oh, and heats up fast, glides great, looks great, etc.
I love this iron so much I have two of this model. I have three others of a different brand and far more expensive that do not hold a candle to the performance of this . Being that I am retired ironing gives me something to do and very relaxing. Please get this model on your next purchase.
Love this iron. I've had expensive irons that were either to heavy or just didn't last. This iron is light weight and gets the job done. Happy to own it.
The instructions state that you should use the steam setting on something that you don't really care about because there might be residue from the manufacturing process that could leave a stain. The iron had some residue all right, but it was in the form of materials that burned - this set off the fire alarm in the house and was a rude awakening for everyone in the household at a very early hour. The sprayer on the front dribbles all the time, this isn't a huge problem - but you may have to wipe up your floor after ironing. Don't use this iron in a carpeted area unless you put down a drop cloth. The iron is fine for my use, so no major complaints, just small pains.
Pros--Good iron. Lightweight & glides easily. Produces lots of steam & affordable compared to the Rowentas I've purchased. Cons--I prefer more space between the handle and iron because my hands are big. It also goes through water quickly so be prepared for refills if ironing several pieces.
Absolutely incredible light, quick heating ,high powered , steam iron. PERFECT for my uniforms- which must be inspection ready at all times! CONS: 1.)Reserve must be filled continuously (3x: one short sleeve uniform shirt/Women's Sm.) 2.) The water reserve cover does not stay shut well. 3.) Leaves wet spots.
The iron has the steam I wanted an the heat I needed. Overall, it is doing the job I needed it to do. Just hope it last for over five year. I use iron a lot. I iron just about everything we wear. I use it in my sewing, steam open seams. GREAT.
Gets hot quickly but the sole plate is a low density aluminum and after a few shots of steam runs out of heat and drops water Worst problem is after owning 2 months the flap that seals the water port pops up after 5 to 10 seconds of use and spills water out the front Returning the iron and will buy another brand
Fill spout is defective. It constantly flips open.
