although nowhere on the product picture, the writing on the box, nor the instruction sheet is there any indication that the microscope has a lighted mirror. IT DOES HAVE ONE. but it didn't work so i returned it directly to meade and they promptly sent a set with a microscope light that worked. all in all, i'm a happy camper.
I found some dead bugs and saw the tiniest details about them. The setup and use was quick and easy, very user friendly. The basic functions are very intuitive. The instructions could be a little more thorough and written for younger folks to better understand the different aspects that can be done with it. Over all the device seems very stable and of quality build (mostly metal components not plastic)
This is a really nice set that appears to be made well. My son has enjoyed it tremendously since receiving it for Christmas.
We purchased this microscope for our ever-studious 11yo daughter. She was awake past midnight studying everything under the sun (or moon) and noting observations of like/different magnifications. I am so happy she is getting such joy and educational value with this microscope.
I really liked this product, it was very easy to use, and a lot of useful items with the kit.
I order this microscope for my 8 year old grand daughter and it turned out to be the best investment I made. She has viewed so many things and she was able to prepare the slides and write notes about what she saw. It is a perfect scope that has enhanced her science classes. The scope is simple and easy for her to handle
This product contained many things, but had a couple of the checmicals almost missing (as if someone had messed with it), and had a missing cleaning cloth. Overall the product seems relatively easy to use; the mirror light was a bit ackward to use af first, but is ok.
Very cool microscope - easy to use and lots of accessories make it fun
I ordered the microscope for my son for Christmas and it was everything I had hoped. However, when he took it out of the package, the slide plate had been broken off. We were able to super glue it on and so far it has worked okay. I think this is a flaw in the product design: there should be more support under this main feature of the equipment. A little piece of plastic screwed in is really not enough to keep this piece from snapping off. It was a disappointment to receive it already broken but we fixed it so he can use it.
