I bought this based on opinions from yahoo groups & friends. I am amazed at the ease of use. Love the speed control. You MUST read the instructions (at least the Getting Started pages) or you can become overwhelmed. I tried doing a little elephant...loved the output... and it's great for regular sewing also. A good buy for the money.
I love this machine.The automatic thearder is great.I was so impatient when I got it that I used regular thread to embroider and it worked wonderfully.It also sews like a dream. My husband and I have used it every day so far he loves it as much as I do.We bought two extra thread cassettes and I'm so glad we did its wonderful having them all loaded at the same time when you embroider,it saves so much time.You can get free pes files online.So you might also want the PED-Basic .
I love my Brother embroidery/sewing machine. It works great -- after many reviews I learned from others that you MUST read the manual before using the machine. Make sure that you use the bobbin thread that comes with the machine for all embroidery. It sews great. I also purchased the PE-Basic software/card to expand on the embroidery designs available. I think I have had the machine for about a month and I have used it extensively as both a sewing and embroidery machine.
I have had this machine for just under 7 years and it is a little powerhouse!! I have done a ton of embroidery with it and I really like the fact that it can be easily converted to a sewing machine too! It's the perfect size if you don't have a lot of room for a huge machine or two separate machines, one for sewing and one for embroidery. It does it all! You will NOT regret buying this machine. I've sewn for many years and this machine is awesome! I LOVE Brother!
I love it so far. It is very is to operate and understand how to use the different stitches. I haven't tried everything yet.
Received for Christmas. Is a little bit different from my other machine. Works great!!!! I keep the manual beside me and check things before hand. Directions are easy to understand. Embroidery works great. First one I did was perfect on one of my Husbands workshirts. Second one I messed up but it was me. Keep the manual handy and read about what you are going to do, go slow at first til things become second nature. Best present I received!!!!!!!!!!
Great Dual purpose machine. Easily switched from embroidery to regular sewing. The cartridge feature is a little difficult at times, but the attachment for larger spools makes switching threads easy and faster. Love the dedicated spool for bobbin spinning, no need to unthread to spin bobbins. Overall, I would buy another one and recommend to a friend.
I had some problems adjusting to the auto threader in the beginning, and thought my machine was junk like the previous review. However, after reading the owners manual several times it was pretty much just tention adjustments that needed to be done. I actually use my machine 7 days a week for my quilting business, and it does everything I want it to do! I couldn't recommended a better machine in the price range that has the extensive range of abilities and accessories this one does. The only thing I wish this machine has that I would prefer is a larger hopping area for Embroidery 4x4 is a little small, but still very workable!
We are finding this a fun machine. It is our first embroidery machine. It is easy to use and quick learning. But as we want to do more, we are feeling the limitations -- size and # of stitches. And, now we are wishing we invested in a new model.
i love the machine what it says it will do but have returned the first one becasue of a screw rattling around the second one has not been running right either i am returning this one also I hope 3 times is a charm ...i did manage to make one disne design that came out real nice so i really want the machine that works correct
