I bought this when I got my first sewing machine. I love all the accessories and the quality. You can take it anywhere. My mother in law saw it and I bought one for her she really like it.
A great starter sewing kit.
This keeps me so organized with my sewing needs. Small spools of thread stacks on top of large ones. You can double the storage of thread that way. Fits in small places when traveling. Great for small items in the side compartments. I would not be without a case like this again. Great for sewing,knitting, or embrodiary items.
This is a great little kit for someone just starting to sew (like me) or who wants to have everything in one place. The color selection is great and there is a little compartment for everything. My only complaint was the pin cushion-it is just a little piece of foam and the way it is designed-you can't leave pins in it and still shut it. I just made a little tiny cushion that fits in the little drawer and looks so cute. Other than that-I have no complaints. It is a really nice buy for the money.
I bought this for the portability factor and it is nice to have everything in one place. I keep extra presser feet in there and can keep flat items like a seam ruler, marking pencil, scissors, and such in the bottom. I have used the thread on my sewing machine, and it isn't bad. It does snag more often than better threads, but it comes in handy when I shorten sleeves on my kid's shirts and pajama bottoms, because there is a great assortment of colors. The thread is better suited for hand stitching in my opinion. You can upgrade your thread and put them in the slots and move the assortment to a plastic spool box so you have the colors on hand. The only drawback to me is that sometimes the sides will open when you tilt the box because it only fastens at the top. But normally it sits still so it isn't a problem and the internal container tops remain closed so nothing falls out. Nice buy!
Holds lots of stuff, but a little fragile. Goes well with the brother sewing machine I just purchased however the thread(s) contained within this item are not very strong. I spend the better part of learning how to sew on the machine fixing the thread that just kept braking. So I went back to WM and picked up the strong/heavy thread today, needless to say not a breakage in 5 hours. So the case is good and I guess the thread is only for emergency uses and not meant for a sewing machine & cotton.
When I ordered this I thought that every spool was a different color but the colors that are one side with the large spools are the same colors as on the side with the smaller spools. Otherwise, it has a lot of storage room on the inside and out. I recommend it to anyone that needs the basic sewing accessories.
To be honest this thing reminded me of something I would find in a dollar store. Was very cheaply made and it's contents were cheap low grade items to be wearing the "Singer" brand name. I ordered this item online and had it delivered to the store. I opened it and looked at it at the store and returned it right away. It actually came apart when I tried to open it and all the contents hit the floor. I always say, "you get what you pay for" and it rings true once again. This product reminded me of a child's toy not something someone would ever actually use.
It was so hard to open and when it did all the spools of thread fell out. Equally as hard to close again, and the extra compartments wouldn't stay closed. It came with a pair of very cheap scissors, and the spools of thread were not wound fully. It looked pretty, but not sturdy and not user friendly.
