Works so smoothly my 7year old can even operate this due to the suction that holds machine down while table opens up. Many hours my children and I have spent playing w/ this~ my niece wont even return home cause she loves to play w/ this at my house.
This is the best diecut machine. I also had and gave away the sizzix machine. The Cuttlebug is easily transportable with the handles and vaccums to most flat surfaces for use. Not only does is cut, but dry embosses. I use all my sizzix, sizzlets, and Quick Kuts in it. The price is about right, I purchased mine with a 50 % off coupon at a local fabric/craft store.
I really love this machine b/c you can use any other brand of dies with it. I even tried the big thick red dies from sizzix. They work perfectly! I've bought tons of different dies, cuttlebug, sizzix sizzlets, sizzix originals, quickutz and quickutz revolution. They all work perfectly! You won't be disappointed!! Oh, also the cuttlebug comes with all the cutting pads you will need to adjust the machine for the correct die...you don't have buy a converter kit like with other die cut machines!! Plus the cuttlebug is way cheaper!! My only compliant is that I can't really get my vacuum to work anymore. I just hold it with one hand and turn the handle with the other. Also you can check out videos on neat stuff you can do with the cuttlebug on youtube...just search for cuttlebug. There are videos that explain what cutting mats to use with what dies. Enjoy!!
It's very easy to use and a lot of fun. So far I've only used dies from another brand and they work great. Instructions explain all you need to know to use other brand dies in the Cuttlebug. The instructions are easy to follow. Have just ordered some Cuttlebug embossing dies - can't wait for them to arrive.
Most of my freinds have the Cuttlebug so I have used it often. I finally bought my own. It is just great. Nothing to break on it. Works great every time. So fun and creative and other brands of dies and embossing folders work in it just fine. WalMart's price was better than a 50% coupon at JoAnn's. A fun, fun scrapbooking toy!
The Cuttlebug is a fantastic little tool! I've just used mine for the embossing and it does a GREAT job - super easy and wonderful results. I've even been using 3x5" white index cards to make cute embossed gift cards to tie to a package with the 4 small emboss folders - they turn out great! Lots of fun to be had with this machine . . .
This machine is so amazing. Easy to use. I used it for the first time and was so amazed.Who ever invented this machine has a fantastic imagination. I didn't know what embossing was. I just got into scrapbooking and card making. I did some research on different embossing machines and the cuttlebug was highly favored among scrapbookers and cardmakers. If you just started paper crafting I really recommend this machine. I can't stop making projects. A wonderful tool.A simple tool, yet makes amazing embossing designs.
I basically only use this for the embossing folders for cards. There is a great variety of folders availabe and they are very cheap. You get such a nice, crisp image from them. Very easy to use.
I bought the "CuttleBug" along with six embossing folders.....on Sale. It's so easy to use! Within 10 minutes I had it set up and started embossing every scrap of paper I could get my hands on. I even took plain white computer paper and embossed that. It came out lovely. All you do is cut a piece of paper the right size to place into the embossing folder. Then you place it between two plates and on a "spacer" just like making a sandwich. When you turn the handle, it goes through as easy as butter. In a couple of seconds you have a Beautifully embossed item! I had a few scraps of shimmery gold posterboard, which I cut into pieces and ran them thru the Bug. They came out with my lovely embossed image and looking almost like gold metal! I did the same thing with shiny silver Christmas paper. Don't throw out those pieces of lovely paper.....Recycle them. Another reviewer mentioned looking at videos on "YouTube." I absolutely agree. There you can see them using the machine and how beautifully the embossing items come out.
An excellent value. The directions don't warn you, however about how the dies will leave an impression on the plastic plates. This was very disconcerting. I thought I was doing something wrong until I looked at some videos on Facebook and noticed how chewed-up some of the plastic plates were in the demos. I guess its really OK, but when something is new and pretty, it is nice to keep it that way.
