This pump worked as needed. I pumped heavy gear oil out the front differential of my 4X4. It was slow, but completed the task as planned.
It works as advertised. I don't have to crawl under my cars anymore. Takes about the same amount of time to drain oil as usual.
I purchased this for a car so my complaints may not apply to all..... I have only used this once with less than ideal results. Some of the plastic parts were cheap and were broken inside the package. The broken pieces did not affect functionality but may in the future. Although I followed instructions regarding warming the engine, the pump took almost 10 minutes to start pumping oil. In my case the short hose was too short to reach the bottom of the oil pan. Once the longer hose was inside the engine the short hose was too short to allow for a siphon. My estimate is that the short hose is about a foot long. Bottom line, this product is cheap both in quality and price. If using for a small engine I would recommend. If using for a car, I would pay more for a quality pump. As it stands I will either purchase a new pump or adapt this by adding a new hose.
Changing my oil with this pump was a very painful experience. It's not the fault of the pump but an error in my expectations. Don't fool yourself into thinking that pumping oil by hand will be as easy as blowing up a bike tire. It is not! It is a lot of work and I got oil everywhere. Gonna buy a marine pump that hooks up to the battery. Doing it manually is not worth my time.
P.O.C.-This is the second hand pump but a different model of the same brand purchased to change oil in a Mercruiser engine, at least the first 1 purchased worked once. Never got this one to prime much less pump even with the hose completely submerged in the oil pan; I will look at a different pump for sure.
