[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've been using this oil in my big block Chevy motor for years and haven't had any issues. It has additional zinc as an additive for extra lubrication which is needed in classic engines and racing engines. I have an older muscle car that has a flat tappet cam that needs an oil with zinc to prevent extra wear. This oil keeps great pressure. If you have a classic car, this is the oil you want and it works great. You can rely on quality oil from Valvoline. I highly recommend it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received a bottle of Valvoline VR1 Racing 10W-30 Motor Oil to review, and I think this happened at a great time because I was ready to do an oil change myself, so getting to try gives me a unique opportunity to describe my experience and talk about the quality of this product. We'll see if this is worth it. This is considered to be America's #1 oil, so testing this will help me verify this claum. This oil is highly regarded for its performance and protection, especially in vehicles that require oil with zinc to prevent excess wear on engine components. Looking around the internet, other people have reported success using this oil in older vehicles and also high-performance engines, there are benefits detected due to its synthetic composition and the zinc content, they are cited as being key benefits. I tried this myself and I am very pleased with now the motor on my vehicle feels. Overall, I think this oil has a good value, its price is definitely competitive, considering the benefits of synthetic oil such as this. Now, it's important to note that this oil is not recommended for modern vehicles equipped with catalytic converters due to its high zinc and phosphorus content, mine is not the case so it wasn't a worry. But I have heard that it can potentially damage these components. I will finish by saying I will definitely praise Valvoline for making a product that maintains good oil pressure on my motor and it doesn't break down under high load, even when I get to those high RPMs. To me, this 10W-30 motor oil is a great choice for the right type of engine.

It helps with your cars performance by lubricating all the components easily. The packaging reminds me of NASCAR, and it sure does smell like oil as well!

It is inexpensive and available in a store near us. I always have to keep my car up to date and working well since I use it to work and I have to do oil changes when they are due and I have always used this one and everything has gone very well. We will continue using it because of the price and quality.
