I was a bit skeptical when ordering the mattress topper online, but after reading reviews I decided to go for it! I am SO GLAD that I did! The topper has exceeded my expectations. It makes the hard, springy mattress I got for $5 from someone on Craigslist feel like a BRAND NEW COMFY PILLOWTOP mattress! I am PSYCHED!!!!!!! :-D The bed stays cooler, which is great, cause I am uncomfortable when the bed becomes too warm. I am also very happy because I have back and neck problems, and the topper makes it so I wake up in no pain. Only one problem... I never want to get out of bed! ;-)
Wal-Mart has done it again. It appears that the Wal-Mart buyers have found a superior new product that nobody else is currently selling. A bit of research reveals that DuPont came up with a new material in their R&D department (the polyester Puffball fiber). An educated guess is that somebody somewhere saw the potential in it and put together a synthetic, hypoallergenic version of a feather bed. Real feather beds have a long history in Europe of being the most comfortable sleeping device ever invented, but they have a "down" side. The duck down feathers have tiny little center bones that tend to stick up and feel like needles, so a duvet cover is necessary to prevent that. Another disadvantage of the feather bed is that over time, it loses its deep soft quality as the feathers become weighted down. Eventually the baffles can rupture and the feathers cease to be contained where they are supposed to be. The Puffball does not appear to have any down side whatsoever. Now here is the secret to the perfect bed: 1. Begin with a decent mattress. 2. Over the mattress, put a layer of at least 1.5 inch thick memory foam. 3. The Puffball. It is a good idea to rotate and flip the Puffball periodically. There it is. Now you have it.
Someone gave us a used king size mattress and it needed some "comfying up", so I bought this in hopes that it would make the hard mattress more comfortable...and boy does it! I tell my husband everynight when we go to bed, "our bed is so comfortable!" GREAT PRODUCT, EXCELLENT PRICE!
This arrived two weeks ago and I immediately put it on the bed. The key to this mattress pad is to fluff it up when you get it out of the package. It comes vaccum sealed. Once you fluff it, it expands nicely. Two weeks later it is still just as comfortable as day one!!! You must purchase this item, it's wonderful!!
I purchased this for a sleeper sofa on which I have been sleeping. I didn't know how much a $50 topper would make a difference, because the sofa spring mattress was so uncomfortable. But it has made my sofa bed feel luxurious! Now it's hard to get out of bed in the mornings because I'm so cozy and comfy. I would definitely recommend this for any bed, including sofa beds (and I don't even have to take it off for folding -- just fold it up and the topper regains it puffiness again within a minute of unfolding).
I was so excited when i purchased this pillow top. Made a huge difference the first 2 months or so then i began to notice the dip in the middle of the bed where i sleep the most. The pillow top regains some puffiness when i am not on/in bed but not like it was the first couple of months. I even flip it over and change from top to bottom every couple of weeks. Bottom line is it isn't as comfy as when first purchased but still adds more comfort than just the mattress. Has anyone else experienced this?
This is a very good value and extremely comfortable, however, the only thing I didn't realize when ordering is this item sits on top of the mattress so it's not a true mattress pad because it doesn't have the elastic sides to pull down and place around the bottom of the mattress. Not a big deal to me because we had another, thinner mattress pad that worked perfectly over this item. And I probably just didn't pay close enough attention to the description.
I purchased this product for my 6 year old because her mattress is a little on the hard side. The price was nice, but when I recieved the product , lets just say looks can be deceiving. When I put it on her bed there really wasn't much of a difference. I was going to return it but my husband let our daughter decide since it was for her. She was happy and thats all that mattered.
Ok first of all let me say, Im not one to give terrible reviews like some people do. Second of all, I wasnt as thrilled when I got it, as I was reading other peoples reviews ( the positive ones ) I already have an expensive pillow top mattress that is only 2 years old, however, I like to sleep on super super super soft things. And my pillow top wasnt as soft as I would of liked, thought this might of helped, and honestly it was like sleeping on a comforter. Kind of a waste of money in my eyes, because I wish I just got the more expensive thicker one. I would say, unless your sleeping on a board, floor or rock, put the extra money in on something else, because you could save your money on this, and just lay another comforter down and get the same feeling. I dont know where people get the idea that it "totally changed our bed" because it didnt do that with mine at all. Like I said, board, floor or rock and you might see a difference. As far as quality, it was lumpy in each "baffled" section.. Wasnt as smooth as it should of been either. Looks great, but when you actually swipe your hand over each square and feel it, there are lumps to it. Its going to be impossible to return because it was vaccuum sealed and all the air was taken out. Mine did not have the "factory smell" that other people had said in their reviews, but I will be keeping it, because Im not lugging it back to the store out of the package since it wont go back in the package. Will go on the guest bed or whatever, but Im ordering something more expensive and will just eat the 35.00 I paid for this one. Was really hoping it was going to be alright, but tested it for a few nights and does not feel any different than like I said, sleeping ontop of a comforter..
I'm not sure where people are thinking this is like sleeping on a cloud. Not even close. I think some of these reviews are far outside reality. - Good construction. Decent product but nothing special. - It adds a bit of comfort, not a lot however. It's about 1.5-2" uncompressed. When you lay on it, it fully compresses. It is not like having a pillow top mattress. Just adds a little softness to your bed. - If you hoping it will fix a old crummy bed, you are mistaken. - If you are a warm sleeper (I am), it will make you warmer. - If I was in the market for exactly this type of item again (I am not, was hoping for more), knowing that this isn't some miracle topper, it's worth the money. I have back issues and I was hoping it would help a bit. It did not, so on that note it is not for me.
