Originally debuting September 23, 1968, the popular CBS sitcom Here's Lucy (1968-74) brought American viewers comedienne Lucille Ball's third major hit on national television. Season Three (1971-2) retains significance for two reasons: because it opened with a now-legendary guest turn by superstars Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton (then midway through their first marriage and flashing an enormous diamond ring), and because it witnessed Ball's real-life son, Desi Arnaz, Jr.'s, final year on the program. The set-up of the series offered a a slight variation on its immediate network predecessor, The Lucy Show: Ball starred as Lucy Carter, a Los Angeles widow employed by the Unique Employment Agency and saddled with two children, Craig and Kim (Desi Arnaz, Jr. and Lucie Arnaz). Her curmudgeonly employer was Harrison Otis "Uncle Harry" Carter, played by Ball's frequent foil, the late Gale Gordon. This set contains all 24 original color episodes, presented full and uncut as they originally aired and digitally remastered for optimal viewing quality. The package contains a wealth of bonus features including new introductions by Lucie and Desi, Jr., a Lucie commercial, a Here's Lucy slide show, syndication promos, original billboards and much more.
