I am VERY picky about towels. I had been buying Canopy towels through walmart.com until just recently when, no matter how many times I washed them, I could NOT get rid of all the LINT coming from them! So I decided to try the Mainstays True Colors and I LOVE THEM. They feel great, there's not much lint, they wash & dry easily (I use Tide Free & Gentle HE liquid detergent), and they look beautiful. I've bought the dark linen and the morning glory colors. LOVE THEM!! The only thing that upset me is that when I purchased the second set online, it was at a REALLY good price. So when I went back to buy more only a week or two later, they had doubled the price of them online. Don't quite understand what the deal was on THAT, but I've decided to just pick some up in the store. I don't need anymore hand towels, so I can just pick up more wash cloths and bath towels probably at a better price than online.
I can not believe this product is so awsome! I am replacing ALL of our bath towels with these and other colors too. I did not think I would really be able to bleach them but what do you know they came out perfect. And they are thick and soft too. I just wish they sold them in more colors.
My towel stayed big and fat and fluffy (photo1) and didn't shrink on the edges like I have found other towels to do (photo2). The color is still true (despite the photo quality) and we bought it over 9 months ago. I did not buy mine online but Wal-mart has a pretty reliable service online. These towels are a great deal. I highly recommend them.
I have white and two colors of this towel and love them! They are soft and fluffy after many washes. I think they are a great buy for the price. Also, I like to mongram things and these towels are great because they are simple, so there is plenty of room to embellish.
I got these about a year ago and I'd like to get more. I don't see the dark linen color anymore though. I only got one set, but they are my favorite towels. Really good quality for the price. They are soft, not too thick (I don't have a dryer and have to air dry everything) but not too thin either. They have held up well and stayed soft. Also, they're soft on both sides of the towel, unlike some other towels that are flat on one side and fluffy on the other. I liked the dark linen (sort of a light brown) because the color doesn't bleed and minor stains don't show up on them. I hope this color becomes available again.
The towels are thick, soft and absorbent. I like the quality for the money I spent! I will buy more of the same but in different colors.
Not an upscale hotel towel by any means....but that's not what I was looking for at this price. They are an everyday towel for those that want no hassle towels. For a rollback price of $22, I got my money's worth & possibly a bit more. I purchased similar, bleach resistant, colorful towels at BB&B a year ago & was happy with them for a kids bath....but sadly they are discontinued. I spent more on those towels (even w/coupons) than I did on these, but I could pick & choose the colors I wanted. I wish there was a way to purchase these towels separately.....or have the option to buy a bath sheet that matched the set. I did some research while looking for towels & was nervous about the horrible reviews on many brands of towels out there on multiple websites: color bleed, pilling, shredding, water repelling, thin, spot fading, etc. Seems like quality has gone down the tubes since I last bought decent towels for my home. In fact....the towels I'm retiring were a wedding present almost 2 decades ago from JCP. They've seen better days, but they've stood the test of time....seriously. I haven't used them yet, but I did wash & dry both colors.....together....since that's what I'm always going to do. I bought light blue & violet. The light blue isn't as turquoisey as the picture looks. It's just a nice light blue. The violet is similar to the picture, but not quite. I'm curious about the morning glory color. I experienced NO color bleed, NO color fade, NO shredding, NO shrinking, NO pilling, NO lint transfer during the wash/dry cycle. Everything looks in tact & they are soft, but not too soft....thin but not too thin. I think these will dry fine between uses unlike some thicker towels. On this 1st dry cycle, I emptied the lint screen out once in the middle of the dry cycle & then again at the end. Neither were completely full. The terry loops can snag if you aren't careful taking the tags off. I was in a rush & tried popping the connectors by hand & snagged a towel. This would probably happen if you had frisky cats, too. ^..^ Overall good towels. I plan on buying more for rotation so I don't have to replace them in the near future.
I bought one of these towels last week. Washed and dried it before use, and after the shower when I went to dry off...it didn't work. I had to use another towel to get the water off. It is very soft, but it just doesn't work like a towel should. And since I used it(washed and dried), you don't get a refund.
I loved these towels. They are soft and thick and a great value...or so I thought. After a few wash and dry cycles the edges began to unravel. Badly. If you don't take care of that quickly you'll regret it. Consumers shouldn't have to re-stitch towels after purchase.
My wife bought a set of the Mainstays towels, wash cloths, and bath mats. Why would you take a perfectlly good wash cloth and put a strip in it it that is rough and hard? I would be afraid to wash my truck with the wash cloth afraid it would scratch the paint. The bath mats are not very absorbent, when you step off the mat to the tile floor you have to be careful of the water on your feet.
