I was leery at first of a 4-piece set for less than $60.00, especially because it was a proven brand name. I thought it was going to be of lesser quality. I was wrong. I read the existing reviews before buying it and all of them were true to what I received. The only thing I wish for in extra features would be inside zippered pockets to keep the smaller stuff from moving around. But that didn't keep me from buying the set and I'm very glad I own it.
I REALLY DO RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO ANYONE TRAVELING. I TOOK IT ON A TRIP OUT OF THE COUNTRY AND IT'S EASY TO SEE AT THE LUGGAGE CLAIM AND DURABLE AS WELL. I LOVE THAT IT HAS WHEELES ON ALL OF THE LUGGAGE EXCEPT THE CARRY ON BAG OF COURSE. IT'S JUST A GREAT PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE! I DO RECOMMEND BUYING MORE LOCKS THOUGH..IT COMES WITH ONE FOR THE LARGE ONE BUT THE OTHERS DON'T HAVE ONE.
The luggage set arrived in the nick of time for my trip to New York~ Sturdy, rugged, well put together. Wheels smoothly,holds a lot of of items. All 3 bags fit nicely in the fourth bag for easy storage. This set was well worth more than I paid so once again, "thanks" to Walmart for another great bargain on name brand items~~
I have purchased this set numerous times.. for myself and as gifts! This luggage set is of great quality at an amazingly low price. With the way airlines mistreat your luggage you can't go wrong with this set. The color hides the black airline scuff marks well and withstands the abuse.. not to mention the storage capacity of these bags.
We haven't taken it on a plane yet, but we used a couple pieces for an overnight trip and it worked just fine. I'm sure there's tougher stuff out there, but this is awesome for the price. It seems durable enough for us, because we don't plan do a lot of traveling. It's also great looking, so it won't stick out like a sore thumb. But we're hoping the red color will make it easier to find on the luggage rack.
This luggage set is indeed a true value for money product. I've had this set for almost a year and with trips to asia, back and forth, it has held up quite well (to my surprise). The only concern I had for this product was with the Duffel bag. The material used for this bag is second grade and two loops (or handles...not sure what the right word...used to pick up the bag) are not stitched to the bag quite well. That tore in my first trip but at the same time I did stuff in a lot (into the bag). My suggestion is, don't stuff the duffel bag too much (if you happen to buy this one). Otherwise go for it....at this price you'll never get a better product. I hope to purchase another set in a few weeks time. This is bright red in color...might not stand out...today everyone has bright red bags...and with Walmart selling at such a price....a lot of us will own such a set..:-)...
Well, being an American Tourister, I expected good quality. Loved it when i got it, perfect for my travel needs, especially love the rolling duffel bag, very roomy. Went on a 4 day trip and got EVERYTHING in the duffel bag alone. But when i got home, the inside lining was ripped. Not a huge deal, doesn't affect the performance, but still....used it one time and the lining ripped? Still a good value for the money
I used the large luggage bag for the FIRST time when we flew a few weeks ago. When I got off the plane I was very dismayed to find one of the wheels easily broke off during baggage handling and the red exterior showed every little mark from the travel it looked dirty, dingy, and broken. I was more dismayed to find out all airlines have a fineprint clause that they are not responsible for wheels on luggage. I am now stuck with a broken dingy piece of luggage used once.
This set is so much better than the old style. I have had it for about 2 years, and have used it to travel across the country about 10 times. It has held up quite well until recently the wheel broke off. I was waiting for that to happen bc I just bang the thing around on stairs. Its easy to find on the luggage carousel, but it does show every dirty mark, which is a lot after one round trip. Its easy to clean. The frilly extra fabric lining is mostly ripped, including some of the pocket dividers, which is only this material. The zippers are still working, miraculously (I usually sit on it to zip it). But, not a lot you can do if you are missing a wheel. I will be buying a new, higher quality set, very soon. But for the price, I cant believe it has lasted this long, and at the time I bought it, it was perfect for my budget.
I bought this set for my husband, and I picked this because of American Tourister's stellar name. Never again! He used the large suitcase and the duffel bag, but not the tote or smaller suitcase. A week later, I went to use the smaller one and noticed that the zipper was starting to detach from the suitcase. I called Wal-mart and they suggested that I bring it back for a full refund. Perhaps I received a defective bag, but I will never patronage American Tourister again.
