The original water filter produced great tasting water. Went online to order a replacement and thought I was ordering an LG filter but it was made by someone else. Water taste is terrible. I'm ordering another LG, from LG. I recommend this filter even though it's too expensive.
Only buy from LG. I bought one once and looked identical from a major online retailer. I cut it open and it was not even close to the quality or design of the original lg.
I purchased this a year ago and let me just say I'm in love with this fridge. Not only is it counter depth - making the space in my kitchen seem like more - the ice maker is in the door! The last French door fridge I had the ice maker took up almost the whole left side so that even though it was French door, I didn't have any more space. This is not the case here. I have so much space everything fits perfectly. Thanksgiving was just last week and we had room for everything with room to spare! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I have replaced the water filter in our LG refrigerator 8 times with the LG LT700P and a couple times with other, less expensive, brands. The LG brand has been reliable in fit (no leaks) and performance (cleanest tasting water, definitely better than the tap water going into it). The others improved water taste, but not as well as the LT700P. One other brand oddly came pressurized enough to blow the cap off as soon as the plastic wrap was cut. That never happened with the LT700P. Although the LT700P is considerably more expensive than the others (minus 1 star for that), it has proven to be reliable and to perform very well.
Received our fridge 5 months ago and now water tastes and smells terrible - like plastic from inside the unit because our tap water doesn't taste anything like it. Not impressed with how long the filter worked considering I would say moderate use at most. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I'm experiencing the same issues as other folks have reported - the filter leaks, leaving puddles of standing water on the top shelf. I purchased the refrigerator in August and the original filter did not leak. As soon as I installed the new replacement filter purchased from this site, it began leaking.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased LG LFDS2250S fridge 10 months ago. The fridge overall is great and the water filter that it came with worked fine. The genuine LG replacement filters leak. Using ADQ360061 filters as instructed. These are the filters that push in straight with no turning. Is there a better filter that won't leak?
After the initial six months of operation, I started to experience low water flow from the drinking water feature of my refrigerator. I reviewed the trouble shooting section of the LG refrigerator owner's manual and it recommended changing the water filter. I inserted the new filter and the flow returned to the higher level that I experienced upon the new refrigerator installation. After 2 months of operation using the replacement filter, I started to experience limited water flow. I changed the filter again. Again, after 2 months of operation, the flow has been reduced. I live in an area where the water quality meets federal quality standards. Replacing the filter every 2 months is price prohibitive. I've purchased this item six times in the past, every six months as recommended, and there has never been an issue. The LG LT700P has changed as shown in the attached images, the new version is on the left and the old correct fitting version is on the right. The new version is a slightly different shape and size, which causes it to leak.
This is an awful new design. It does not fit correctly and it leaks all over the place.
