Just recently I was given a sample of a wet cleansing towel and decided to test it against Pond's wet cleansing towel. I took off makeup from one eye using the competitor's brand and the other eye with the Pond's towel. First, the competitor brand stung my eye (I HATE THAT!) and it took 2x as much time to get rid of the makeup then Pond's. Also, I had to use all of the competitor brand towel to get off the eye makeup, but with Pond's it only took half of the towel. Proof is in the picture I posted. Thank you for making such a great product as Pond's Wet Cleansing Towels! I don't use any other and now you know the reason why!
These are the only wipes i use. I had a hard time removing my water proof mascara until i found these. i also notice they dont sting my eyes!
When I went to open these, there was no hole under the flap. it got cut too low and it down towards the end of the product. So part of it is under the opening and doesn't close. I had to put them in a ziploc bag to keep from drying out. I wasn't sure what happened until I looked at the other pack (in my 2 pack) and seen what happened.
When I first started using these I was very impressed. They are textured for a gentle exfoliation while soft. The cleanser seemed mild enough to not dry my skin out. They removed all makeup easily. It only took about a week for me to realize that it wasn't mild enough. I continued with my night cream and light moisturizer in the morning but my skin quickly started to dry. By about 2 weeks in my face would feel dry and tight after taking my makeup off with these and now is peeling. If you have combination to oily I think these would be a great product. If your skin tends to be drier like mine I would stay away from these.
So, I love the face wipes. They work great. However, I have a problem with the adhesive they use in the packaging. To keep it stuck to the cardboard, and any other wipe packages that might be included? I swear, that stuff was invented by NASA to hold the International Space Station together. It does not come off. I have tried. And now, I feel like it's trying to tell me something. Whenever I try to take the wipes out of my drawer, it brings along other items: face lotion, my double stick dress tape, etc. It's like the package is saying "Hey! You have wrinkles and show too much skin!" Seriously? I shouldn't have to have that discussion with my face wipes. Please rethink the packaging.
In the new packages, I noticed the wipes are completely different. The wipe itself with the moisture clean feel is no longer original. The original fresh "wet cleansing towelettes" were so much better! I'm guessing the "cold cream" technology changed it. For the pricing, I will NOT buy again. This new look and towelettes are not worth buying anymore. Before, I used only this brand as well as their cream. I will now look into another brand now. I can't believe how much the towelettes changed. I am glad the packaging is different since the closure keeps the wipes moist which is only reason for 2 stars otherwise I would put 1 star as my rating instead. The new towelettes do no justice compared to original wipes in the old packaging!
I've used the original fresh ponds towelettes for years. Too bad I'm going to have to go on the hunt for a different face wipe. This new "cold cream" version leaves my skin feeling oily and the wipe doesn't feel as nice. Keep the new slightly better closure on the packaging but go back to the old wipe please. Why mess with a good thing?!
I've used the "Original Fresh" towelettes for years but this is the last box I'll ever buy. The thing that set Ponds apart from other brands was the great, almost waffle-like texture of the towelettes. They were the perfect thing to cleanse my oily skin after a long day of traveling, hiking, camping, or a beach day. The new cloths have such a smooth texture that you can't even get a grip on them. They don't clean your face nearly as well, and there is nothing to set them apart from other brands. I'll be moving on.
These wipes used to have a low-residue formula and a waffle-type texture with little holes that was great for scrubbing. Unfortunately, they've discontinued all their old wipe formulas in favor of releasing a whole line of wipes that are identical except for scent and packaging, that seem to be formulated similarly to how the "luminous" ones in the pink packaging have always been (extremely moist, no texture at all to scrub with, and leaves a ton of residue). Please, if anyone has found a brand of wipe that is similar to how these used to be, post it here! I'm desperate.
I used to be obsessed with the ponds wet cleansing towelettes because the had a really soft and thick yet sturdy texture, unlike most makeup wipes that are rough, thin, and easily breakable. I was in a rush today and quickly bought these not realizing they were different. When I got home I figured the packaging was just different, but in fact the fabric and cleansing formula are completely different. I figured since I liked the old formula they wouldn't be that bad, but they really are. The fabric is thin/not as textured and sturdy, which is really ruff and irritating on the skin. It took off all my foundation, but the texture is so ruff that it irritates my skin to the point that the wipes are doing more harm than good. I won't be able to use these wipes anymore. I'm really disappointed because the old ponds wet cleansing towelettes were the only makeup wipes my skin could handle, and my skin isn't really that sensitive.
