Easy to use very up to date
Seems to pick up all signals well, except some are not picked up as soon as I thought they would, from eyesight. I was expecting the signal to be picked up sooner than what I have seen, but it will give me enough warning. Unless, maybe you were going 120MPH, which I do not recommend :)
Since I've never owned a detector before I have nothing to compare it to. From what I can tell it works good and does the job I want it to. It's compact and looks good.
I ordered this online and when it was sent it was packaged generically and it had a different saying on the Gift Tag. The radar dectector was correct, but, not the packaging or the gift tag. I wrote one thing on the "gift tag" but another was printed.
I previously owned a Whistler brand detector for about 5 years, before it finally gave out. I purchased this despite another review of Cobra's I had read which warned this brand was no good. I was impressed with the product description, so made the purchase anyway. After the performance of my prior detector, this one is terrible. The warning time is minimal. I would seriously consider a diferent detector.
I received the XRS as a gift from a friend. Within three weeks, the mute feature began overriding the voice feature 75% of the time. I would see a police car, look at the screen and see a bright "5" and "X" band, but no voice or tone alert whatsoever. I don't have a receipt, so doubt the warranty is in force. The unit looks impressive, but what good is it, if it doesn't do the job it was intended to do? I give it a D+!
