I have been searching for a bag to store the trailer hitch on my 2004 SSR for nearly 3 years. None of the bags I looked at would do the job or they were way too large for the hitch. On Saturday I was at the home of Mike Moro who owns Simple Engineering and is a guru on SSR's. He was doing some work on my dash ac/heat vents and duct work. In the course of our conversation I mentioned that I was trying to find a good bag to store the :SSR trailer hitch in and was having a problem because of the unique shape of the SSR trailer hitch. Mike recommended your Hitch Tote and he actually sold them along with the many SSR accessories he carries. The fit and quality were great and I would definetly recomment it to any SSR owner or,in fact, to any vehicle owner looking for a way to carry thier trailer hitches. This is exactly what I was looking for. My slide in receiver and hitch pin had been wrapped in an old T-shirt for years until I saw this. Time will tell how well it lasts but my receiver with a 2" ball fit perfectly in this case. I wouldn't think anything with more than a 3" drop would fit in this case.
This is a well made product. It is large enough to fit both my 2" drop hitch, with my Convert-A-Ball Ball Holder, which holds three different size Balls. I can tuck it in under my seat when I am not using the hitch and it helps protect both the hitch, balls, and truck. The only think that I would like to see on this bag would be hard plastic inserts on the side to provide a little bit more protection, but it works well as is too.
