This iron is easy to use, has a wonderful safety system and is lightweight, yet strong enough to easily iron linen.

I quilt so I have my iron on quite a bit. I have had this iron approximately 6 months. It had been working good. My only complaint up until tonight is that between the main part of the iron and the sole plate collects lint from the fabric and then it scorches the lint and starts smelling. I was using it this afternoon and while I was pressing my fabric it shut off and won't re-heat. I have turned it off and back on, I have unplugged it and plugged it back in and it still won't heat. It does beep like it is hot and then when I turn it off it beeps that the iron is cool. Not happy with this iron. As one person said, I guess you get what you pay for.

Seemed well built, simply instructions, light weight. But difficult to see water level and very difficult to fill. Not having a retractable lead was more inconvenient than I originally thought. Steam ironed 10 shirts and then it beeped and turned off. Instructions implied that moving iron would turn it back on, but no. Tried plugging/unplugging. It would beep but not turn back on, and all the water would run out - tried to use it as a dry iron, but would not heat up again. Spent an extra $10 and got something more durable.

I have used Black & Decker irons exclusively my entire life. I bought this model because of the rave reviews. At first I was thrilled, the iron was light and had nice features. Then I used it to iron curtains. I set the iron on the next to the highest steam level and water kept spurting out. Also, the water from the reservoir kept spilling out on to the curtains. I discarded the iron.

this iron is garbage...I had a previous Black and Decker iron that lasted about 8yrs so I decided to buy a new one. This lasted maybe 4 months It won't turn on now, water leaks out, it's a mess! I am returning it ASAP!

I purchased this iron because Black & Decker usually makes reliable products. This is an exception. The auto shut off feature is apparently locked in once it comes on and the iron has to be unpluged and cooled before it will come on again. This is extremely inconvenient when you are going back and forth from the sewing machine to the iron. I thought it might just be a lemon so I returned it for another one of the same model, it did the same thing. Now I will be returning the new one for a refund. In my case each trip is 65 miles which makes it even worse.
