I have only had this item a few weeks and already have prefared three meals in it. I can't wait for the cooler months so I can try out the recipes for stews and chili in it. I had a smaller one for 20 yrs and went for the Mega size to feed the family and my son's friends in one POT!!! The lid restraint was an added bonus and the carrying case/cover helps not only to keep the food hot but to keep the cooker parts all together. The cooker heats up fast and stays at a constant temp when using the warm setting. With the slow cooker bags, clean up is easy. A must have item.
If you are looking for a large crock pot, this is the one for you! I bought it as a gift for our Mom. She loves to cook for our family. The regular sized crock pots were never quite big enough until this one. It gives her the versatility to cook for a large gathering as well as for just her and Dad. In addition to its size, it also has the capability to cook on high and low and a setting to keep the food warm when it's done cooking and you aren't quite ready to eat. I am going to have to get one for myself now! I definitely rate it a 10!
My husband always complained because our slow cooker was never large enough to hold all the food he would put in it. He is now extremely happy with this 7 quart slow cooker. And it looks nicer than our old ugly one. Thanks for a great product!
This slow cooker is great. It distributes heat well and cooks uniformly. It is ideal for larger items such as pork shoulders. You just throw in the meats, liquids, and spices, and then you turn it on, and when you check it 8 or 10 hours later, it's all perfect. I definitely recommend it!
This is one of my most favorite appliances in the kitchen! My meals are so tasty and super simple to make.I love the extra large capacity for soups and stews, and cleanup is a breeze!! Now that fall is approaching I look forward to all the hearty meals that will slow cook all day...I love this!!!
First and foremost use Slow Cooker liners. The 3-6 qt liners work fine. You will save the slow cooker, and there is very little clean up. My first impression was "What a lovely piece of equipment for the kitchen." If a small kitchen appliance can be called lovely, this one is. It is simple, efficient, and holds much more than the old 6.5 qt slow cooker I recently parted with. My first batch of baked beans are great, perfect cooking time, perfect appliance for the recipe. At first I was disappointed there are no indicator lights for low and high levels, but the finished results made up for that.
My 1970s burnt orange slow cooker finally gave out and I searched online for a new one. I went with this one due to the size and cost. It is exactly what I needed for my family of 6. I will probably not use the travel case, but that freebie seemed to not effect the total cost. I had it shipped to my home for only .97cents and used it the next night. It is a nice cooker, for a nice price.
I don't know about anyone else but mine tends to heat a bit hotter on one side and on the first use actually burned the pot a little ( so now its a bit discolored in a small section). Once I figured that out I keep the meat from touching the side. Other than that I think it's well worth the money and works great. Everything has come out right in the time I wanted it to
This crockpot was an upgrade to a larger size from the one I was using. I love having a slowcooker but needed a bigger one. This seemed like a great one to get, it had decent reviews and was a great price for the size. The ceramic pot cleans well in my dishwasher, even when I made tomato based soup, it didnt stain. My only concern is that when I twice made soup, the carrots and potatoes seemed to take a lot longer to cook then in my old one. I am not sure if that is because this one hold so much more. I tried the second time cutting the pieces smaller but it didnt seem to make a difference. It isnt so bad, I just know I need to allow extra time. I didn't have the issue a few other reviewers mentioned with the spitting from around the lid. I would recommend this if you are looking for a large size crockpot and you dont have a large budget and dont need any bells and whistles.
Simple to operate and keep clean. White crock liner lets you know when it's clean. 7 quart capacity comes in handy. Tip: remove residue from cooking beans by using white vinegar. Only shortcoming: I wish it had an indicator light to show when it's on. Seems durable: I accidentally dropped the lid from 6 feet up and it bounced off my wooden floor, and did not break.
