We really like this range hood. It's pretty quiet on the low settings - but of course on the high settings, it's pretty loud. What do you expect - it's moving a lot of air! It looks great, too. My contractor needed to order some kind of connection piece on line to make this attach to the vent that goes outdoors. We were surprised it wasn't included with the hood.
I would recommend for home use, like me is new home owner, when move in the original vent is not blow the smell out that is why I decide the change.
This hood works exceptionally well and we are very pleased with it. It looks very nice and is easy to clean. It has removable filters that can be cleaned and put back. The fan has four levels for exhaust and three light levels. When you turn the exhaust on it works with a vengeance! We would hate cooking things like fish or frying anything because it would stink up the whole house. Not now! This fan works wonderfully well. The only thing that I can say bad is it is very heavy and was difficult to put up. My husband and I did the installation ourselves and struggled with the weight. Once up I am very happy with it.
I love this exhaust fan and it's ducted which takes out all the smoke from Kitchen all the way out of roof, The Fan is very powerful enough with 3 settings. The only suggestion I would like to make it if there were 4 lights would be great but this thing is very powerful and will meet all the needs for Kitchen as we cook a lot. Thx Ankit
We had the exhaust fan installed in August 2016 and have been very happy with its performance. It has 4 speeds, the lowest being quite quiet and the highest being exceptional at sucking away any moisture from the air when boiling water for pasta. When you turn it to the highest speed, you can actually see the moisture that accumulated on our kitchen window (from several minutes of boiling water) disappearing ! The fan also has a 5 minute timer. In addition, the 2 LED lights have 3 settings, the highest being almost bright enough to light up the room, and they use very little electricity. The price was also very reasonable.
I bought this exhaust hood six months ago. I find it works well but the fan is a little noisy on the higher settings. My spouse kept using the lower setting despite the need for a higher one because she couldn't hear the TV on the higher setting. Also, the on/off and light switches are not intuitive and takes getting used to.
I'm scare occasionally when the light and/or blow switch gave up working right, and it's very hard to find the right information on this model from your web site!!! I wonder why it's this much difficult since you made and sold it and you'll be doing this business not for 1-2 years. But one happy thing was when I called for help, the rep was very helpful so my system rewoke-up and running again now.
I purchased this product through my independent appliance store. I purchased the white version. The product has lots of nifty features, such as theatre lighting, last use memory setting, and a stainless steel under surface. The low profile is also aesthetically pleasing. Some Broan products have 4 lamps, and I wish this top end product had four lamps as well. I find the back of the range to be somewhat dark, particularly compared to the adjacent cabinet areas with under cabinet lighting (I like plenty of light). I called technical support to determine if I could switch the side lamp holders for a four version unit, but was advised that the products were UL/CSA certified as purchased and should not be retrofitted. Additionally, the internal wiring harness won't support a four lamp version. It is possible to purchase MR16 LED replacement lamps, but their light output is less than the halogen lamps supplied with the unit. A four LED lamp fan would be perfect. The first two speeds are relatively quite, and the two top end speeds pretty noisy, particularly the top end. Mostly I use it on the lower speeds unless cooking a stir fry. At the top speed, when cooking a stir fry some odours get into the house, but it is minimal. It helps if I shut off the whole house heat recovery ventilator (HRV) when cooking as the HRV tends to draw some of the cooking fumes throughout the house. When cooking a roast in the oven, it is best to use the third highest speed. Overall I am satisfied with the unit, but for the price would have thought that the fume extraction would have been somewhat more effective.
We did not find the install as difficult as others. We did have to take it up and down a couple of times. A template for the holes would be helpful. A long screwdriver was the ticket for the hard to reach locations. The hood is louder than we would have like. It bothers me more than my husband.
This range hood is not as effective as the salesperson would have had us believe. While we are cooking on the stove top we can actually see the smoke escaping from the range hood and if we are cooking steak.....well, no need to tell you that the smoke escapes in great quantities from the range hood. I would not recommend this product to people who do alot of cooking.
