We bought this from Wal-Mart using ship-to-store and have been extremely pleased with its appearance and quality. With my daughter's assistance, it took me about two hours to assemble it. Straight forward instructions make it fairly easy to put together. It matches our computer desk which is part of the same Cottage Home collection from Sauder. Our home office has never looked so good. It looks like we paid two or three times as much as we did. I certainly would recommend this and buy it again!
THE ONLY PROBLEM IS NOT TO MAKE MUCH OUT OF GETTING THE SLIDE ON SECTIONS EVEN AT THE BEGINNING AS SAID BY THE INSTRUCTIONS . THE TOP PART OF THE BOOKCASE IS THE LONGER SLIDE ON STRIPS.ALSO IT WOULD BE ALOT EASIER TO ATTACH HINGES TO THE BOTTOM SLIDE ON PIECES ASAP. OTHERWISE YOU HAVE TO CRAWL INSIDE TO ATTACH AT THE END OF INSTRUCTIONS. ALSO BE CAREFUL WHEN ATTACHING MAGNET TO INSIDE OF CABINET AS THE HOLDING PIECE IS ONLY PLASTIC AND STRIPS EASY. THAT IS THE ONLY CHEAP PART OF THIS CABINET.WHAT A BEAUTIFUL PIECE AND WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY COMPARED TO SOME OF THE OTHERS. YOU WANT BE DISAPPOINTED.TAKES ABOUT 2 HOURS TO PUT TOGETHER TAKING YOUR TIME. PLEASE BUY YOU'LL BE HAPPY YOU DID.
The shelves are very nice, they look like they cost at least twice as much as they did. They are easy to put togather and are very well built.
Very nice looking piece of furniture. Very well built. We are very pleased with the quality of Sauder furniture and the ease of assembly. We purchased this piece along with the open bookcase and I must say, they really look much more expensive than the purchase price.
I bought these while my husband was in Iraq and was able to put them together myself. The instructions were easy to follow. During assembly, I accidentally broke one of the trim pieces of wood. Sauder, the company that makes them, has a web page listed in the instructions where I was able to go online, order a replacement piece, and was promptly sent one free of charge with no questions asked. I was impressed with how easy it was. I think they look very nice and seem pretty sturdy. I recommend them.

These shelves look great in our basement. We actually bought 2 with the cabinet doors and 1 with all shelves. Once they were together my husband attached them all together and attached them to the wall; as we have small children. Affordable and do the job!
Overall, these were a good value. My fiance and I bought them to store his massive amounts of books in our new apartment. We bought this and two of the side shelvesto make a full set. They look great, and match my Desk, which I bought 2 years ago, beautifully. The only complaint that we had was that the three pieces did not seem to want to sit straight, so there were gaps between them when we first put them together. However, my fiance bought a couple of clamps to hold them together at the top, and they look great.
This was the only one of three products I bought in this range that we were able to assemble as the other two were SO badly damaged in transit that we couldn't use them... this one had a few scrapes and cracks but we could work around it. Pretty to look at once you get one that's not wrecked!
I was under the impression that the bookcase was real wood and not laminate. The laminate on the back interior is somewhat bowed and does not lay flat. The color is darker than pictured on the internet. It was certainly reasonable and I will try to find a place in the basement, but will return the 2nd of the two purchased. Just doesn't look authentic enough.
