Excellent product. Looks and feels great. Comes with tinted glass. I took my time, so it took me more more than six hours to assemble it, but it was well worth it. Make sure when you put the pieces together to tighten them up real good. Adjustment of the glass doors is done by turning the inside screws in or out, which is not mentioned in the instructions. That's it and so far I'm very happy.
This TV stand allowed us to compress an audio rack, speaker stands and a separate TV stand into one, really cleaning up our 'home theater' corner. The 3 large drawers are great to store video games, controllers, remotes, etc... and not many TV stands have that feature. Plenty of space below to store six components and the stand hides all the cables, finally! Very sturdy unit, takes a while to assemble but with patience you'll be pleasantly pleased with this purchase.
Bought this for my Samsung 67" DLP. Looks great and assembly was not difficult at all. Did several searches before deciding on this specific stand and Walmart.com had the best price I could find. Chose site-to-store and delivery was painless. Picked up the stand a few days before the original estimated arrival date. I had to do some modding to the lower center compartment to make room for my center channel and cut a few larger holes in the rear panel for better ventilation. I didn't want glass doors so didn't install them and the unit looks fine. Would definitely recommend this stand.
We scoured the internet looking for a new stand for our 46inch flat screen, wii and dvd player. We found the Bush Riverwood stand on some other sites but the shipping was outrageous. Walmart offered Ship to Store and we decided to purchase it from Walmart. Assembly wasn't hard but you definitely need 2 adults because as you build the stand and need to move it, it is heavy. It took us about 4 hours to assemble it from start to finish. It's very sturdy and looks really high end.
Built like a tank. I should know because it took 4-5 hours to put together. Looks great with my 52" Sony LCD and fit my center speaker perfectly (see picture). The black finish does show fingerprints and it is heavy, otherwise I would of given 5 stars. Recommended.
Very contemporary piece. Stylish. Plenty of storage and drawers to store things. Nice glossy black satin finish. (shows dust quick though). Have had several comments from friends and family on its appearance and style. Great value for your buck. Its not the most solid piece of furniture I've ever purchased, but it is far from a cheap. It also easily holds a 52" Sony Bravia Lcd. One caution....when assembling it. When inserting wooden pegs with the glue, be careful not to drive them to deep into there assigned holes. The base or floor of the cabinet is soft and thin and can easily push through. Unfortunately I discovered this the hard way. Overall, very happy with the item as a whole. Hope this is helpful! Enjoy.
I chose this particular unit for it's size and demensions and features. The open shelves in the middle are nice in addition to the two side glass covered areas. I have a very big audio reciever and it fit perfect. I had a hard time with other units that I looked at with holding all of my devices and stilling being short enough to sit under a wall mounted TV. I love the drawers as they add a nice space for games, controllers, and accessories like remotes. The only bad thing I have to say about this product is that the installation was a doosey! Lots O' Pieces. There is also glue involed with the kit for the wooden pegs and man is it messy! I have two small kids so I'm used to staying up late and putting things together, but this one really tested my patience and skills. It took me 6.5 hours total from start to finish. The instructions are tough to understand in certain places and I damaged it during assembly in two places. TIP : do not use a hammer to tap in the wooden pegs! Gently tap them in with a end of a screw driver, do NOT over hit or they will go through the other side (yes the finished side). I also had some trouble with the three drawer assembly, they wouldn't stay together and had to use my own methods to keep them from falling apart. All in all, a very sturdy product which I know will last awhile. It works great for all my components. However it will need dusting often as it shows finger prints and dust.
I'll get right to the point: The screws for mounting the door hinges in step 18 are just a bit too long and can poke through the laminate on the front of the door, making little spikes that can ruin the otherwise expensive, contemporary look of this TV base and make you very unhappy. But don't let this scare you away from buying this piece of furniture. I still recommend this TV base. It is a shame the manufacturer didn't provide shorter screws for mounting the door hinges when everything else in the kit is precise and beautifully crafted. You can prevent the above problem by nipping the tips of the screws off (or buy some shorter screws for step 18). I drove two of these screws through the door before discovering that they raised pointy bumps on the front laminate. I was able to touch it up by removing the screws and nipping off the points with a wire cutter. Then, before putting the screws back in, I took the door to my workbench and, while holding a steel ball on the bumps, I tapped them down flat with a hammer, taking care not to cause too much vibration lest the glass break. You can't notice it unless you get on the floor and know where to look. The flat black makes the blemish disappear. I love the look of this stand!! It's cooler and sturdier, yet way cheaper than anything I found in the stores. Another thing to be aware of during construction: The drawer glides are in two parts that come assembled and you have to take them apart (not by force) to mount them to the drawers and cabinet walls. It took me a while before I noticed the plastic lever that appears when you extend the gliders. Push the lever down and the glider pulls apart. This should have been explained in the instructions. Lastly, when mounting the doors in step 19, turn in each hinge's adjustment screws to the same depth, where you can easily fit the two halves of each hinge together. Then adjust the screws in or out to where the doors open and close all the way and are level. The end result can be perfect if you heed my first tip and don't force anything. I would have rated this stand 5 stars across the board were it not for the issues I faced. But I'm quite please with it after a week of constant use. Start before noon and you could be enjoying it by prime time if you don't rush it.
I recently purchased a 60" sony rear projection (sxrd) TV. I found this stand on walmart's site and decided to buy it. The stand was reasonably priced in comparison to others I looked at, but this one was MUCH more functional and attractive. SITE to STORE shipping took a few days longer than I hoped (the tv actually arrived first) but the real horror was putting the thing together. It took me, two family members, and a friend an entire afternoon and evening to fully assemble the stand. There are lots of pieces that needed to be glued and screwed before you can even begin the real assembly. All in all, the time and money was well spent. Unlike many other stands, this one has tons of storage space, and again, it looks great. If you've got the time and patience, I would definitely recommend this product.
I had a big screen TV with a wall unit entertainment center around it. The big screen died and we decided to get an HDTV but I could no longer buy the tv stand that matched my wall unit. So I started looking for something non descript that would sort of blend in with the new TV and not clash with the existing wall unit. Thought I would take a chance on this one. If I hated it, I could always return it to my local Wal-Mart, right? So, I ordered a 61" DLP TV from another site and this stand from Wal-mart. The TV got here before the stand did. It took 8 days for the stand to come in which was within the time period Wal-Mart stated. I picked it up at the store and it fit fine in the back of my pickup. The dimensions of the box on the e-mail receipt are way off - I was real concerned that the box would fit in my truck. But it did, no problem at all. It is very heavy, so we had to carry it in piece by piece. My husband was convinced that he could put it together in way less than the 6+ hours that everyone else was saying it took. Well, it took the 2 of us 4 1/2 hours. Still a LONG time. There are SO many little steps of gluing and screwing components together, before you even can begin actual assembly. The instructions are pretty easy to follow. It is a very solid and heavy piece of furniture that looks pretty good. I still think it is way overpriced for what it is, but it is made pretty well. There are exactly the right number of screws, dowels, etc., so no extras are provided. We had plenty of glue in the little tubes provided. You really don't need extra glue as others suggested. All the pieces fit together perfectly so no "re-engineering" was required as is sometimes the case with other assemble yourself furniture. I included a picture with the new TV on it inside my old wall unit. Doesn't clash too bad as I was concerned it would. So for me, this works pretty good. Plenty of storage and the drawers are nice for storing manuals or remotes, etc. I am overall very pleased with the purchase, love the site to store option because it saved a ton in shippping, and would definitely recommend this TV base.
